I don't want to make this post too long.
I just wanna let y'all know that I have finally quit both weed and kratom on April 4 of this year. I've mentioned on here several times over the last few years that I "quit" kratom but i would only last a couple of weeks before I felt confident enough that I was not addicted and I would go back to using. I became pretty isolated over time because of it and started getting some uncomfortable mood swings and would get really angry when I lost at chess (like serious rage, I did not like it).
I started letting my family and friends down.
I wasn't the friendly person I know I am and I wasn't spreading good vibes. I never could truly relax and be calm, I was usually in a weird anxious mindset.
I think each time I tried to quit I couldn't because my weed addiction was making it super hard. I smoked weed almost daily for 11 years. Used kratom almost daily for 5 years.
I just want y'all to know all this because I want to inspire others who find themselves in drug addiction and feel down in the dumps. You can do it. Quitting seemed like a dream for me, a dream that I couldn't reach for a long time. But now I did it and it feels wonderful. You can do it, too. I feel like a totally new person. My sense of humor is back and I feel happier than I've felt in many years.

Way to go man. Kratom dependence is seriously downplayed on the internet. It can be an extremely difficult habit to break. Took me at least a dozen tries before it finally stuck
for that matter, weed dependence is downplayed, but it's nowhere near as bad as kratom. That feeling of finally being able to take a 100% full breath anytime I wanted to after YEARS of having chronic bronchitis from smoking pot was such a relief

mind if ask where the impetus to quit both came from?

Thanks, morrowasted. I truly respect you a lot and enjoy your posts. And I'm happy for you to also have quit kratom! and for quitting weed, if I'm reading your post correctly. I dont think I ever had bronchitis, but I did always have a slight little cough...
yea I think you're right about weed dependence not being as bad as kratom's, but it still was a dependence and was negatively effecting me and compounding with the kratom dependence into a bit of a nasty thing, I must admit.
I think the impetus to quit both came from a few things:
1. The last couple of years I haven't been playing/making music as much as I wanted to. It felt more like a chore than something I enjoyed, unless I was high. I didn't want to have to be high to feel that way. i know I can play heart-felt music when I'm sober.
2. The pandemic, at least in the USA, seems like it is starting to go in a good direction, public health wise.
3. I want to be healthy
4. Probably the biggest reason is I turned 30 in March and did not want my 30s to continue the same way the last couple of years of my 20s went... I needed to grow up and think about how I want to live my life. I want to be there for my friends and family. I want to help people. I want to be excited to see people and for people to be happy when they see me. I want to be a good role model for my brother who kind of has been struggling a lot of his life. I want to find my girl at some point and not have drug dependence get in the way of some good love.

Have you guys experience any hair loss or anything from Kratom? I’ve seen numerous posts about it and I have noticed it in myself too

I started balding around 23/24. I started using kratom when I was around 25 (I'm 30 now). I have progressed to a considerable level of baldness, yes, but I don't know if it was the kratom or just my genetics.

I have heard a lot about it. It never happened to me but apparently the immunostimulant properties or something are responsible for this
that shit is likely also full of heavy metals and god knows what else
