In the internet age the adage goes, 'if a person is not seen at The Shroomery, can they be said to really exist?'  This group is unreal.  The internet has a five second memory. Please take five seconds out for the sake of your relationship.

To the Husband :

You have clearly expressed your hostility in calling us a bunch of losers and that you don't give a fuck about our opinions but what you're failing to realise is that any of the users that have posted here with a valid opinion are actually right, as am I. Now, assuming that you married your wife out of love and because you believe her to be the only one for you then I am curious to know why you don't seem to be showing any compassion towards her at all and as another user said before me, she seems to be the one with a level head on her shoulders.

Call us losers? well it seems to me that if you're the one who is willing to let your marriage fail then you sir, are the loser.

I second that. I think it would be incredibly beneficial for you two to see a consellor and try and sort out whats going on. You're clearly having trouble communicating, although it sounds like the lady is a little more certain about what isn't working for her while the guy is just confused and not so communicative. Guy- I think it would be beneficial for you to sit down and really try and identify the sources of your emotions. Why exactly does the avatar bother you? What would you like your relationship to look like? How do you envision quality time spent with your wife?

You guys really should consider getting a babysitter and going for a walk in the woods, or on the beach, or somewhere somewhat private and peaceful and just try and hear each other. Try to listen without judgement or jumping in and shutting one another down.

But yeah, this really sounds like a case that a cousellor could really help with. The communication breakdown is pretty harsh.

Well, I feel that (the dude) should feel more grateful and talk to the woman.  Always talk to the woman.  You will regret it if you don't and there is no going back.  If there is nothing else trust me on this on(I've learned from mistakes but that is another story).  Listen to all the things she says about herself, let her be free.  And NEVER repeat the mistakes that her previous relationships did.

I feel that if you are man enough to break up with her in a semi-public and dis all the people here, who have never caused you any real pain, then you don't deserve a woman as wonderful as her.

give the guy a break. in a way I can relate to him. I could have done something in the tone of this post a couple of years back. just take it for what it is and let it go. he was trying to reach his wife and sometimes this becomes quite difficult.

marriage counseling... makes no sense.

in fact, probably the most retarded idea ever put forth from psychology. We define a normal relationship, because all relationships are the same right.... and then we try to make you guys into a normal relationship.

you notice on that show "cheaters" when the man gets caught he says "baby I am so sorry, its not what you think, she means nothing to me, please take me back, i fucked up".
but when the woman gets caught... every single time... "well if you would have paid more attention to me I wouldnt have to go behind your back... its your fault I did this".
granted, sometimes the guy will say "well if you would give me some sex once a year....".

but my point is that women can only think of how a situation should play out, in their terms and justify their actions accordingly.
she says she wants attention from him, but wants it on her time and when she is busy doing something as retarded as spending time on this forum, she rejects his attention.
chances are, she probably wants him to unplug the computer, scoop her up and fuck her on the nearest piece of furniture... not complain about her being on the computer.

she wants intellectual stimulation, he can't offer that, end of story?

sounds like yet another miserable relationship fueled by dependence and head game drama.

Wow...

I actually read the majority of this and have no idea who you guys are, as I'm relatively new to actually posting here.

But here's my two cents, being someone who has been through rough relationships and is currently is a happy one.

First of all, please talk about this. When I say talk, I mean talk, face to face, in person, alone. No resolution will come from this if you try to figure it out online.

Guy - Listen to your girl. Read through her posts again on here. As I was reading them, I noticed someone who seemed to be putting real though behind her words. They seem very sincere to me and she seems to be approaching this situation reasonably. In other words, she wants you, man. Do you know how many men are with women who take them for granted, cheat on them, lie to them, etc.? She seems level headed and rational...at least listen to her when she's saying she wants to talk.

Girl - Not sure what to say to you. Seems like you're handling this well. Like another poster said, maybe take a break from the boards, just as a sign of good faith and as a further sign that you mean no harm by posting here, that you're only trying to find comfort you cannot find in your relationship.

Both of you, keep your head up. Relationship trouble is the worst. It can bring your entire life to a grinding halt. Stay open, communicate, and find again in each other what you obviously saw at one point in time.

::edit::

Wow this was the coldest, most unfair post I've ever made on a website, and you guys jumped on it just like every other mean thing we've said to each other on here, and tried your hardest to make it worse, good show gentlemen.  Maybe it was unfair of him to ask me not to come here anymore, but this has definitely gone too far, and I'm as much to blame as anyone.

I will be here, waiting and loving him, hoping for his return from Selfish Land. But I WILL NOT ever let go of what tiny comfort I have in this world, and the only thing left that is just for me, and makes me happy in this sad state, is the shroomery.

I enjoy this place because when I say something about a topic which interests me, somebody reflects, something which helps me become more self aware, or they let me know something about themselves in relation to the topic.
So I will not be leaving because it makes him uncomfortable to see me happy with something that he refuses to supply.

Good to hear you will still be around.  You are definitely a positive addition to these boards, I'm glad you derive some joy from posting here.

I don't know your man, but it sounds like you are trying to get blood from a stone.  You're smart, I'm sure you'll figure out what you have to do to be happy.

I want to have sex more frequently then is probably humanly possible. And we do have an active sex-life. However, it is boring. He never shows any interest, other then the random grunting out of an orgasm. I happen to be very tantric, and this type of sex doesn't do much for me. I need some raw passion to work with every now and then.

He has such little interest in the amazing things that I want to do to him, that he'll turn me down, and the next moment he has free, jack off to some woman online who wouldn't spit on his dick in real life.

Lucky Bastard.  Don't know what he's got.
