defective alex grey poster....

so the day after hofmann's death, i bought the alex grey poster of him. i got it today, opened it up, and found it wasnt in the best condition. it definately wasnt fucked up during shipping or anything. i took it out of the tube and discovered there were 3 seperate wrinkles all over the poster, each one a few inches long... wasnt too happy about that. but i sent them an email letting them know, and they say theyll send me a replacement for free. so, score. so im hoping this new one isnt going to be defective...

I bet you could iron out the wrinkles in the paper. Never tried it myself, but I might soon.

Well, you'd put a towel over it or something. Not iron directly on the poster.

test it on some shiny ads out of the paper. see what heat you can bring it up to without browning (burning) the paper. then iron with a cloth over or direct

If you ever get a wrinkled poster you can bring it to any framing store and for 20 bucks get it dry mounted. They put it on a hot vacumm press and bond it to foam core,taking any kink or fold out of it. In this site they have all alex grey posters already dry mounted http://www.mysticmana.com/home.php?cat=264 looks awesome, good luck with youre replacement.

"dry mounting" should be last option,
as it depreciates the value of the artwork considerably.
