Wow. Yes, for-profit TEE-VEE. Great source. Notice how television news sensationalizes things? Now imagine the profit margin of the "Science Channel". Most likely a subsidiary of corporation X or whatever. Keep it on if it's losing money? No.

The History Channel is a fallen analogue.

Yo, mister faster than the speed of light = going back in time, with all due respect (I don't think you get any this time around) if you travel any faster than the speed of light, you become pure energy. It's called fucking Einstien, and no you don't go 1.5 minutes into the future on a plane, maybe, due to relativity, it seems like you go 1.00000000000000000000001 etc., into the future, but the world around you experiences time the same way, relative to there speed. It's fucking relativity, not time travel.

Don't go over your head when you can't even doggy paddle.

My post talks about a specific guy (don't remember his name), who is using lasers to spin space, and hence time since they are interwoven, like a hurricane. This in theory, will mimick the way a black hole distorts spacetime. The only drawback to this method is that he'll only be able to send sub-atomic partiles backward because he's spending close to a billion dollars to build this machine and it'll only distort a very small piece of space.

Now imagine that tiny space starting to spin, the swirls around it will grow in number as time goes on. The theory is to send a partcle along the spiral and it will be going back in time, but since the swirl has a definative end (the time that it started), that's as far back as we can send the particle.

Who Knows if it'll work, but there's a number of scientists backing this guy from major universtities and the government. You think this guy can afford this project without some kind of a grant?

This is were the best science as of today stands on time travel, it either can't happen, or we have to "wormhole" through spacetime (only good for traveling distances as well as time), or we can only go backwards to the time the mahine was made.

Go on, mister plane time travel man, refute that...

so far our science says that if we were to make a time machne (someone already is) it could only take us backwards to the time the time machine was made.

Hence, we would not be in control of time...

Ok, as one travels closer and closer to the speed of light, they are actually traveling into the future. Ever hear of.. when your on a plane and you take off, your actually traveling into the future about 1.5 minutes. As you actually pass the speed of light, you then travel back in time.

People rely on mechanical devices too much to do thing for them, one day we will harness the power of the brain and we will be able to do things such as travel into time and through the universe just by brain power. Not much is possible with mechanical equipment yet, thats because all those things have mass and weight. As one travels closer and closer to the speed of light, it begins to weigh heavier and it takes more and more fuel to keep it moving faster.  That is why its impossible now but we have made mechanics with our brain power, why not travel through time and space where ever we want to go with our brain power also???

Brain matter has mass and weight too, thats why. :smirk:

I think he was referring not to the brain but consciousness itself.

Reality as we normally perceive it is in a constant state of becoming. It isn't becoming anything. It is only an illusion that anything at all is happening, ever. 2012 is right here and now.

hedge bet here. itll be when consciousness shfits to the moment and forgets the past and cant think of the future because surviviing in the moment is all thatll matter. and then presumably someone who looks like jesus will show up and do some good deeds and then die or something and will be heralded as jesus coming back and that paradise must be on earth. and it was all metaphors lost to time.  itl prbly be something hilarious like that:yesnod:

This article just as an example is one thing that makes me wonder, among many other.

At this point, I almost know something on 2012 will happen. It almost seems inevitable whether it be total armegedon(which I doubt), a major shift in conciousness, returning to more primitive life, religion and governments fail, the collapse of the world econnomy, or even a divine spiritual awakening. It seems that we are all ready and want change just have no idea how to go about it considering any real change would have to occur on a global scale. Anything is possible.

In my mind, too many people have predicted this for far too long. The mayans being most credible to me. Above all, I think this event(whatever that may be) will affect not only the physical earth, but all realms of conciousness.

Will life continue on earth? We could almost garauntee it would in some form or another. Will humans survive?....I think some of the smart and strong will. One thing I know will happen is we all continue our mysterious journey through the universe.

I see 2012 as the end of an age. The end of the age of Pisces. The beginning of the age of Aquarius. Also kind of ties into the end of the catholic church/christianity as they were the beginning of an era. They have had their ~2000 years and now it is time for our next awakening, however that may be. Christianity is nothing more than paganism that denies it's roots. They follow the astrological calendar. They also have many holidays that fall into these categories.

Anyways, like I said... My belief is that it is nothing more than the end of an era. The end of the age of Pisces. The awakening of mankind is already happening and is growing. I do not think this age will go quietly as those who are in power will have no qualms with using anything in their arsenal to keep the status quo.

Just for kicks, I'm planning on doing a heavy dose of ayahuasca on Dec 21, 2012. I'm sure for a while it will seem as if a massive dimensional shift is underway.

Otherwise, if there is any signifigance aside from the astronomical, I suspect it may be more of an inflection point than a discontinuity.

Or, maybe aliens arrive/show themselves. Or, we reach technological singularity. Or dimensional shift occurs and we merge into a more unified consciousness in higher dimensions. Or, the hyperspace critters yank us away to their zoos all over the multiverse. Or . . .
