i found arrogant bastard to be way overpriced for what you got.  Paid like 8-9 bucks for a bottle and wasn't all that impressed.

My favorite is yuengling lager, if i had the choice it'd be all i drank but the nearest distributor is 5 hrs away :frown:

Big fan of Hobgoblin, Moose Drool, Fat Squirl, TommyKnockers, and other brown ales.

Maybe it's cause I'm a heckuva lot closer to the brewery, but I've never seen the Arrogant Bastard large bottles going for more than ~$5 here in California. I like it.

Other choice brews that I've been enjoying:
  • Colorado New Belgium's Trippel
  • Colorado New Belgium's 2 Below
  • Oregon Deschutes's Bachelor Extra Special Bitter (ESB)
  • Germany Spaten Munich's Oktoberfest
  • Germany Schneider & Sohn's Aventinus
  • California Firestone's Double Barrel Ale

http://www.beeradvocate.com (preferred to ratebeer, imo)

Hell yeah Hopslam!! Grapefruity, peachy, resiny, and all that good stuff! I make my own beer and I can't come close to something so tasty.
I usually don't buy beer from the store but I'll be buying several more cases of this stuff before its gone for the year

Oh yeah, and at 10% it only takes a bottle or two to get you where you need to be.

Yah, that has to be the reason. My roomies ex was from new mexico and all she could talk about was this beer. We had to go to a specialty pub in memphis called the flying saucer to find a bottle of it. It cost us 9 bucks (big bottle tho) and it was good, but, IMO not worth the 9 bucks they charged.

If i was paying 3 bucks a bottle i wouldn't mind it tho.

that beer was a disappointment. I like strong ales, but there's just something wrong with that beer, and it's expensive besides.

I drank half of the glass and tried to give the rest away to my friends, who disliked it just as much.

New Castle was just bought by Heineken and Carlsberg.

Carlsberg is going to handle the Russian Market, Heinie the rest.
