right on Geomancer!  Brewery ales and brew-pub beers are always the best just difficult to photograph.

we've got one where I live called 'Fairweather IPA' and I wouldn't trade it for any other.  The brewery dosen't bottle any of it but you can buy a half-gallon and take it home for $8

No doubt, I've found that most great little breweries save their best to put on tap for their regulars or limited bottles for sale in the brewpub.

The Two Hearted is made by Bells, up in Kalamazoo, MI.  They have an all around solid lineup, their imperial Expedition stout is another good one for the winter.  Its a bit more hoppy that a lot of Imperial stouts, but IMO after about a year in the cellar, it is outstanding!

I take it you're from AK?  One of my favorite breweries is actually Midnight Sun.  Unfortunately they don't distribute out here so I have to either mail order what I can from Oregon or wait until one of my friends goes up to Anchorage and pick some of the limited stuff up for me.  I hear you guys have some good meaderies up there too...

I've been drinking Magic Hat No. 9 a lot lately.
More consistently than any other beer (besides Natty.)

hard to pick a varorite but i love Deschutes; black butte porter and obsidian stout are near my favorites for regular drinkage. Arrogant Bastard  if i'm not overdoing it.

pretty much anything sammy smith's: oatmeal stout, taddy porter, nut brown ale, etc.

Samuel Smith's Organic Ale is way up there for me right now.

I prefer it as cold as possible, very smooth and "clean" tasting...

Did you get a chance to try their Black Butte XX?  It was an "imperialized" version of the Black Butte brewed with coffee and cocoa nibs and aged in bourbon barrels for their 20th anniversary this past year.  Pretty good stuff.  :smile:

nice, i wish i had.

i need to make more f@#$% $$$ so i can get back to brewing. my consistency sucks because i can't resist experimentation, but i hate paying so much money, so seldom for good beer the way i like it.

That is indeed a good one.  Doesn't make it out east here, but my buddy in Cali sent me a sixer in the mail and it was fantastic stuff!  Reminded me a little bit of a lighter version of Hopslam.  If this was available near me, it'd be a daily drinker for sure.  :smile:

Firestone's Brewery is about a half hour drive away from me, I always wondered how far they distribute.  Hopefully they'll get to be a national brand someday, all of their lineup is quality.

From their website:  "Currently our beers are only distributed in California and Nevada."

Or this one;

I also had a good one, that a buddy sent me a swingtop handbottle of from NB that I can't recall the name of.  It was a peach sour, and it was pretty darn good.  (anyone know the name of beer I am talking about?)
