For pure taste my favorite is a Corona w/ a thin slice of lime.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is also delicious.
All beer is good though, some just tastes better than others. You get what you pay for.

No offense guys and gals, but you have really crappy taste in beer.
Fav. Ale: Arrogant Bastard; Can't recall the brewery.
Fav. Porter: Black Butte Porter; Deschutes Brewery
Fav. Hefeweizen: Halfaweizen; Rogue Brewery.

excellent taste
People, if you think Heineken is good beer then you really havent explored beers much. Seriously, its the worst Holland has to offer. Just about any Dutch beer (grolsch, gulpener, bavaria, brand) is far better than Heineken.
Look into belgian monestary beers OR german lager.
The best beer in the world in my humble opinion is Chouffe (the light-colored (blonde) beer, not the dark)
You can get it in the US too but it probably costs an arm and a leg. You don't drink Chouffe to get drunk, but as a side effect it gets you very drunk very fast.
It is *so* tasty! If there were a non-alcoholic version that tasted the same, I would drink it all day

Arrogant Bastard is from the Stone Brewery.. I prefer thier Double Bastard to it for an ale though
For a lager.. I like Avalance by the breckenridge brewing company..
For a Porter.. I have many favorites.. but the one from the breckenridge brewing company is the best i find (I cant remember its name)
Stout... I prefer Mackeson's Tripple Stout (its got nice dark malt, chocolate, and coffee flavors)
For a Belgian White ale... I like Hoegarden or Blue moon.

right now unfortunately my favorite beer is either michelobe light or bud light. I have been getting entirely to fat and too drunk all the time drinking the good stuff. I guess you could compare it to a cigg smoker (cutting back) by switching to lights.

My favorite beer is Black and Tan, from America's Oldest Brewerey, Yeungling. It is so good, and damn cheap. If I'm at a bar, I prefer to drink whatever's on tap, preferably local, cuz there's nothing quite like a pint of freshly poured brew to quench a thirst.

Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen... it is just ridiculously good. It's not too heavy either so you can drink a shitload of it if you're in that mood. For cheap beer you can't beat Keystone light. This may be more of an acquired taste, but around the holidays Harpoon Winter Warmer is really good also.

While on my way to go to the park two weeks ago, I stumbled upon a barrel of empty heineken bottles in front of a pub near my apartment. I brew my own beer, and free bottles are always a good thing to have, so I began to look through the barrel for brown bottles. (Green bottles = stale, sunlight afflicted beer. There's a reason that bottles are dark. Never buy anything in a green/clear bottle and expect it to taste like it should. Unfortunately, some companies aim to look different so that they can sucker ignorant beer drinkers rather than try to make their beer taste better.)
I didn't find any brown bottles, but I did find an unopened heineken that someone had accidently thrown in there. That made my day.
I'm not 21, so when it comes to finding good beer, I'm limited by what others give me... but here's my list of good stuff:
Spaten Optimator Franziskhaner Hefe-weissen Carta Blanca (fuck corona, you don't need a lime for this) Fat Tire
And on Tuesday, my homebrewed belgian golden ale goes into bottles

Actually thats false. Green bottles are used to give certain beers a certain distinctive flavor. Its not about looks. I dont personally dig that kind of flavor, except maybe Stella Artois and Grolsch, maybe rolling rock as it reminds me of soda. But its certainly green and not brown for a reason.

From what I've read, the only thing sunlight does for beer is bring out unfavorable flavors/smells (cat piss/skunk/etc)...
"Bottle color is important to the preservation of beer. Three colors of glass are commonly used to bottle beer: brown, dgreen, and clear. Green glass and clear glass are not useful in preventing off-flavors caused by light-struck beer, which is beer that has been spoiled by light and temperature. Light-colored beer is particularly prone to being light-struck because light passes through it more easily than it does through dark beer. Brown glass does offer protection from light.
Clear glass is preferred by some brewers because it allows the consumer to see the beer's color-- particularly important to breweries marketing light beers, which they hope consumers will associate with fewer calories."
-The Encyclopedia of Beer
It goes on to say that the exception to the rule are:
A. Companies using a hop extract that can withstand light, rather than pure hops for flavoring.
B. The Old Brewery in England, which uses a chemical in their bottles which blocks or deflects most uv light.
Any examples of companies that want skunky smelling beer?
