I bet your uncle wasn't able to make a self analysis such as tools_n_corpses did :smirk:
From that draw your own conclusions.
Mental disarrangements include denial, this is basic stuff.
Obviously, the OP does not show any signs of that.

Quote:
Why does everyone say do some research, like you all swear your some pinche encyclopedia

Because people have to know what they're talking about and you obviously don't. And this proves exactly that:

My homeboys uncle is a schizo and whenever my homeboy would smoke bud or do some coca hed get paronoid as FUCK. Hed kill my high everytime i was around him. And then later on i found out about the mental illness thing and told him but he didnt beleive me and thought i was just fucking with him. Now hes like that 24/7.

You said about showing signs of paranoia and from that you jumped to schizophrenia, please explain how.
I'd suggest you some readings:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoia

Also I'd suggest you to express your words better because:

Quote:
I no what schizophrenia is

Can be easily understood as "I don't know what schizophrenia is" since the word "no" expresses a negation. And I suspect you didn't want to say that :strokebeard:

Quote:
And i also no that smoking bud can cause mental illnesses in your family to come out in you.

This is also unintelligible. Please rephrase in a way that we all can understand what you meant.
Until now, from what you said, I imagined some stoned dude getting possessed by his father's paranoid spirit.

Haha I was pretty sure you were into Alan Watts. you should try to listen to his lecture the joker, its pretty much what I was trying to say except worded by his linguistic genius.

In my experience this kind of paranoia is the flipside of laughter.

Keep on Keepin on

Tools-n-corpes is dead on; exactly. I get like this every time I smoke. Not so much a state of mind in which I try and protect myself from others but more along the lines of tyring to protect everyone else from each other.

Nothing is worse than when a bunch of high people start making jokes and they turn into hurtful insults. The laughter becomes fake and you can sense it in everyone. Im usually the guy who makes himself look like an ass in order to take the focus off the 'real' victim.

And then I become intimidating to everyone else because they know that I know what they were thinking and have the balls to act upon it. I am never the victim, so to speak, but I am always dragged into everyone elses paranoia by trying to make everyone comfortable.

Very interesting thread. Drug induced paranoia always makes me think of this quote...

-" Is there such a thing as a human heart?"
-"Well, if you listen closely you can hear it breaking."

Could you be more specific? What do you mean by look like an ass, and how exactly does that intimidate others?

Ill usually tell a joke about myself and you can see the awareness and embarrassment in everyone else's eyes. IDK how to explain it anymore than that.

When I'm high on weed I become like a psychologist. I can break people down and analyze their personality. I really can see what makes them tick and most of the time its really sad. People can be so guarded and fake.

If a jerk hurts someone else's feelings over and over again I can usually sling an insult that shuts him up for the rest of the night, and I mean an insult that strikes at the foundation of who they are. That is when everyone else gets really intimidated and stops poking fun at the innocent.

Lots of psychic energies reaching for meaning. The thoughts are the high. As with any good marathoner the secret is in the Gatorade and in the supplements. The cleansing of a good sauna followed by a meal rich in nutrients. The apples are handy plus any other servings of naturals. But, it is a losing battle. The decay will find the way for the unconscious is full of content not absorbed. Perhaps the same issues dressed-up in camouflage will come around again. Process (sleep). The marathon runner died. He dehydrated and the glass of cold water finished the job. Even the best fitted have limitations. The break-down (drug induced) hunts with the many tools that the experience built. The difference of the experience is the truth of one or the lies of... how many?
Just like the beaver, the schizophrenic mind requires many repetitions of facts (research) in the search for truth. Where many are content with their reality, the schizophrenic (drug induced) mind needs more cycles in each process.
¿Can feeling be rational? If there is a line... when does feeling become irrational ? There is nothing to say about speculative thinking. The construction of the most outrageous theories requires the repetitions of the beaver. Beware of the irrational feeling that creeps in with the tide of psychic energy. It is easy to go along with the flow/laughter; It is hard to build like the beaver and to contain the feeling as a helpful rational function. Many tried with that dragon and you are gifted with the pen.
I like the ad on TV. The girl is the driver of the car and the guy in the passenger seat tries to change the channel...”all resistance is futile”

Does anybody know WHY being on drugs can induce paranoia? I mean, chemically, what is going on in our brains to cause this? And why are some drugs better at causing paranoia than others?

I began smoking weed at 15 and thoroughly enjoyed it for 4 years. Then as a freshman in college, one night as I was smoking I remember feeling something "snap" in my brain. It was an actual physical sensation, and I distinctly remember a wave of paranoia taking over my mind for the first time. EVER SINCE THEN, every time I smoke weed I get paranoid.

It's like I lose my self-confidence. I over-analyze every aspect of the social situation, interpreting all comments and occurrences as if being directed towards me. I begin questioning every decision I've made in the past and look at my present situation in a perpetually negative light. It's the complete opposite of how I am when sober.

And it's only with weed. I've never gotten paranoid on shrooms, coke, X, or anything else I've done.

I feel weed amplifies feelings of being this animal "human".
It amplifies the sensitivity of the senses, thus drawing consciousness into a more tangible, primordial universe, instead of a more exotic ethereum of distant electric alien thought processes.

Primordial not in any way suggesting inferiority (even accepting the statement as an insult is a mode of primordial thought)
but as one that is more intune with the natural developements of an animal species through psychological mutations, intimately, you feel someones tone of voice with a psychedelic clarity, it resonates in your animal soul with a tactile power usually not felt.

Of course it will be a different effect for many, but I feel a good majority of peoples are in someway effected by weed this way.

Many human animals exist consciously with pre-constructed, inborn understandings of form, interaction and logic, there is an innate logic usually held in terms of survival, this is because the psychologies that exist, survived!
Therefore the majority of conscious framework is one which is sensitive to survivability, social maneuvering and the very essence of the animal reactions, both phsyical and internal

when high, this subliminal effect is usually felt with heightened potentcy

imagine your paranoid thought sequence as a ravenous little ape-like being frantically trying to strangle a concept into submission
theres no fear, no battle, but that doesnt mean there is no reason to analyze, but analyze with clarity

not that my opinion matters, but i kind of believe that weed generally emphasizes the perception of the negative side of other people but for some reason not the positive?. also i feel it makes people negative.

i don't know though, i hear of alot of people that get negativity every time they smoke it, and i hear other people tell me they have no idea what i'm talking about.

i was kind of hinting at that i think negativity and paranoia are a normal part of weed intoxication. not caused by any particular mental process per se, but a simple chemical plus receptor site equals paranoid.

my guess its probably something to do with neuro-chemistry or whatever, and less to do with personality.

I find your perspective fascinating... let me make sure I understand what you're saying.

Since weed amplifies the physical senses, in a way, it makes us more "aware" of our physical, animal nature. As citizens in a modern, comfortable society, very few of our conscious thoughts are "survival-motivated." (Much of our behavior, including time devoted to work and socializing, is in fact, related to survival, but most of us don't recognize this consciously.)

However, when we're high, since we are more in tune with our primordial nature, we see everything through a "survival filter." Since we live in a social society, where your social behavior has a direct impact on your survivability, we begin to analyze social situations and signs with unnecessary magnification. Comments that we wouldn't give a second thought to when sober, we inspect from all angles, trying to see if they will harm our "social survival."

When I'm high, I get paranoid even among my closest friends. It's like I begin to question whether they really consider me a friend, and I interpret offhand comments as "talking down to me." When I say something, part of me watches for reactions to see if my comment was accepted, which is something I never do when sober. I guess this makes sense, since your social circle is related to your "survivability" in a social world. In a way, the paranoia is simply a way of being hyper-aware of your survivability.

mikebart, you have some excellent views on pot, really down to earth.

I know so many good people who act like such fucking dipshits once they get high. They are so fucking afraid of their own illusionary personalities they sit and try to bring everyone else down to their level in some pathetic attempt to "feel good." Its the most horrible and ironical joke they are playing on themselves, because at the end of the day they still know they aren't proving shit by making nice people feel bad about their uniqueness. This might be one reason I've abstained from pot for a little over 2 months now...

IMO these are the people who can't handle pot! And its a maze/spiral of discomfort they put themselves and everyone they come across through.

Put down the weed, guys! Sometimes it seems staying high just makes these obtuse personality traits and a lot of the time the "asshole stoners" are the ones who smoke weed constantly and stay their neagtive selves.

I don't know. I have just had some really unfavorable run-ins with people who shouldn't be allowed to smoke weed.

And when it comes to weed and paranoia, I think it entirely depends on mood, setting and quality of friends around you. When I'm with chilled, nice and generous people I love getting high! I want to smoke an ounce out of a bong all day with these people!

But once the meanies come, everything turns a shade of shit.

You've got it dead on magico

you can say high paranoid thoughts and feelings are "just" a chemical reaction, but that really doesnt satisfy, theres too many subtle behavioural and communication-based interactions when high that obviously trigger paranoid reactions, and when analyzed clearly produce a general sourcing from a contention-oriented animalistic model.
but the mind can be a hyper-convoluted jigsawpuzzle, what might be linked to a dominance trigger may because of unusual circumstance and personal growth turn into any of millions of abstract behaviours and sub-psychological fields of personality creation
