so what you're saying is that the more of your troops that die, the more instrumental you were in fighting a war? how about the first gulf war? the US destroyed an entire army in a very small period of time and only lost something like 100 people, but was the effort not a complete success? the objectives were accomplished regardless of how many soldiers died doing it. how many soldiers really doesn't prove anything. it's about the strategy and tactics used by the living.

I admit my thread appears to be incredibly ignorant as to tar every human with the same brush but that was the point! I want to see what response it provokes.

I don't care where your from as long as your thinking independantly.

If your following the crowd then it can just be annoying or it can make me dislike you depending on far your willing to follow.

Regardless of losses, the fact that we had little to do with the success of the war is historical fact. Germany was depleted in resources; they were being closed in on all fronts. They would have never taken England, it would have been impossible with the resources they had.

All America did was speed up the end of the war, and yes the vary end. We didn’t even enter the war until Germany was already severely crippled.

No I'm just saying that its ridiculous how Americans think they were the fulcrum of attention and the real heroes of the war. My country was brought to its knees, as was France, Russia et al. I mean just look at the figures for Russia, its truly mind blowing.

It's just fucking disrespectful to paint yourselves as everybody's saviours, keep bringing it up like you made huge sacrifices when it wasn't your country in getting monkey-raped into the ground. Britain's society and economy were completely fucked after it, we were a ruined country. You lost more civilians in 9/11 than in WW2. I wasn't saying America didn't help but get off your high horse. Other countries suffered the full extent, and its the men that died protecting them in a bloody war of attrition until you guys eventually decided to join in, that should be regarded as the true heroes.

Just have some respect.
