Hey centrum,
Firstly, welcome to the shroomery! I'm sure once you have your first experience, this site will be a wealth of information for you.
Depending on the shrooms (location, cultivation, etc) the potency may vary. A good solid 1/8 will definately make you trip, but most are able to handle that amount with relative ease.
One bit of advice- try not to expect anything from the shrooms. If you spend all your time waiting to see the painting on the wall move, or see your fingers melt, it may never happen, and you'll miss all the other cool stuff going on. Personally, I like being outdoors better when shrooming, it feels more natural and it's a much larger "headspace" (hard to explain..). But the key is to just relax and see what happens.
If you eat the shrooms first thing in the morning without eating anything else first, you may experience more nausea, but they'll come on a lot quicker. Then again, to each their own..

For your first trip 3.5 would be good if you've tripped on DXM or anything before. If you have never tried any mind altering substanses other than weed then go for a little less. Being in an altered state of mind for the first time can be scary but you will most likly love it.
So if you've never tripped on anything before start with 2 - 2.5 grams. If you've tripped before then go for the 1/8th, it will blow you away

welcome centrum...
it sounds to me like this will be your first time consuming mushies, and i'd recommend between 1.5-2.5g. a half eigth (1.75g) will give me a very nice trip any day of the week
as far as what to do, being outside is very nice. music is a must... and just browse through some of the posts here to give you other ideas. have a great trip

Yeah eat 2 or 2.5, then eat the rest if they aren't doing much. You may want to chill for the first few hours and then go for a walk (we call them adventures). Just make sure you are free from parents walking in or other problems and then you don't have to worry about anything. If really weird things happen, don't get scared of them. You may feel parts of your body melting or disppearing, your friends head may stretch around, and star wars figures or family pictures may take on a sinister look. If it were me I'd take the whole eighth, but that's because I know I'm rather insensitive to psilocybin. Just remember you know things will be back to normal in a few hours. Have fun!
