Humans, 'aliens', dimensions, philosphy, and maybe a little bit of religion

hmmm, so, just an idea. what if humans are the most intelligent beings in this universe? (not that it necessarily matters in this scenario, but just play along)

Maybe there is no other life in this universe outside of that on our planet. Maybe in other universes, or other dimensions, physical chemistry is different than in the one we currently reside (on whatever level you wish). So to account for supposed 'alien encounters', beings in these other dimensions are, in a sense, higher one some scale than we are. They might easily have the ability (technology) to transcend dimensions or universes.

Now, if these beings are able to do this, maybe some of them have chosen to lower themselves to our level in effort to help us reach a higher level, or maybe deceive us to a lower level since they would be able to return to their higher residence; this could explain the Buddahs, Christs, Lao tzus, etc.

As a result, our beliefs, ways of life, virtually everything we do would be a result of outside influences.

This isn't to say that maybe some people aren't able to attain a glimpse of these higher states, whether based on these religious/philosophical teachings or through their own mental capacities/abilities.


I understand there are a lot of ifs and maybes and very hypothetical situations, but this idea just struck me and I felt the need to put it down. It is a lot more complex and detailed in my head, but I felt the need to simplify it for now

Seems highly probable that there is life on other planets just like ours.

I think religion can be accounted for as a result of the thinking mind. We wanted answers to questions. We humans would rather have incorrect answers than no answers at all. Religions are a result of this.

Religions offer answers to the biggest and scariest questions we can think of - How and why are we here?

It appears that most religions started off from basic sun worship. We looked to the heavens and saw this awesome being (a star, our sun) and fabricated stories along a more human nature as to what the sun was. These stories branched off and frabricated into a huge set of different tales which account for religion today.
