It's been eaten by the mycelia..., but this doesn't mean it's gone.

What I mean is that it's likely that they'll fruit just fine, but the problem is that it's possible for the contam that was previously there to have produced something bad. There is no telling what sort of contam you had. Could have been the form of aspergillis that produces vitamin C for all I know. But it could have been a contam that produced either a carcinogen, or something far more deadly. While this is unlikely, it's a possibility, and I would throw them away.

But I've heard of many on the BB who didn't and they lived. Others didn't and some got the poops or whatever.

If shrooms grow and they look normal, eat em. I wouldn't think twice about it. They grow in the natural around a whole bunch of other stuff, but that doesn't stop us. Pretty much everyone who's been around shrooms for a long time (Shroom Wizard, Mushroom John) say they're fine to eat, they've never heard of someone getting poisoned from a normal looking shroom. Go for it, unless you're really leary about it, then you just might make yourself sick from worrying about it while you trip. In which case, you can always give them away and test them on friends :wink:
