Differences between the Entheogens
    #7361613 -

Hello people!

sorry if this was made before, I used the search and couldnt find..

I would like to know how you guys feel are the main differences between the entheogens...

From my personal experience, here´s what I think about each of the psychedelics:

ACID - It is like a microscope, or a telescope, for the mind...  Many of the mind´s faculties seem to be accelerated, more detailed, finer..  I seem to realize all the different hidden patterns in the stimulus (sound, vision, etc).  There is a sort of ´super-human´ thing going on.
Imagine everything is vibrations, frequencies, and we have a limitation in the range of frequencies we can normally perceive. So with acid, its like this range increases a bit, so you see an extra quality in everything, an additional information about each thing´s essence that you couldnt notice before.

I do feel like there is a connection with a bigger Consciousness, but I do not feel like there is a ´Being´ energy in it

MUSHROOM - Much more playful..  The famous ´gnomes´ are not little beings that you see just like you see the computer in front of you. They are more like, little energies, tendencies, that are all around, subtle, hard to see, playfull, trickery. They morph with the world around. You can see them in the patterns in the tree, always changing, hiding, the teeth of one becomes the eyes of another, which then you look again and its only a leaf in the tree..
So mushrooms do have this more alive ´Being´ energy in them.. and they can teach you and play with you, or if you dont respect, they can mock you, ridicularize you, etc.

PEYOTE/SAN PEDRO - There is a very particular desert shaman feeling.. It´s very calm, subtle teaching.. feels like you are looking things from above (not spacially from above, but from a higher consciousness position), with an undescribable peace of mind.. There seems to be a very special life to it, like some calm wise mescal entity.

AYAHUASCA - The teacher. Very serious energy. Not a recreational drug, but more like a spiritual sacrament. There seems to be a mixture of a feminine (the vision) and a masculine (the strength) energy to it. You face all your mistakes impartially, there is no hiding here. With acid, for example, you see many things here and there, and truth can be anything or nothing. With ayahuasca no: There is a definite feeling of Truth, and you see it/feel it. You cannot lie to yourself, nor to the ayahuasca energy. It sees through, and you see through. You see the void from where it all comes, like a potential puddle that has all the possible colours in it, but still hasn´t come to form. It changes your life, and you realize you still have a long way to go in your personal evolution.

DMT (smoked) -  Bang! K.O.´d by the universe. Infinite layers of geometric/fractal/impossible patterns and colours. There are beings, and they are busy.. They are semi-transparent, also made of colours, and how they move affect the rest of the universe. They come to you, kick or punch your face but their hands are made of colours, so its just colours coming towards you. They speak and forms come out of their mouth. Everything is interconnected, there is an unbelieavable level of intelligence that you could never have imagined before. There is a very strong knowledge/sense/feeling that what you experience is NOT made by your mind: It exists outside, it is a dimension independent of us.  You come back, and there is no specific teaching, you didnt learn something about your mistakes, but you did visit another world much more impressive than any sci-fi film, and you now know that the universe is much bigger, more intelligent and more beautiful than you thought.

how about you guys? how would you define each different trip? do you work good with some substances and not good with another?

I only tried it once, and had a really strange trip.. I dont know if I could put it under the same ´group´ as the other ones.. I didnt feel it to increase my consciousness in any way.. More like, squashing me very strongly, as if I was becoming 2d.. I cant explain but unlike the others, on this one in the end my conclusion was: "how weird!"

maybe I should experiment with it a bit more.. I know some people who love it, but I got more attracted to the ones I mentioned

it takes many more times than once to get to know it. once you get past the ego loss stage then Salvia is the MOST amazing entheo out of all of them.

i dont necessarily agree (that salvia is the most amazing entheo) but there but salvia certainly does have its own great benefits to it

I believe you salvia must be quite interesting to explore more, and I might even do that some other time in my life...

but saying it is ´The Most interesting entheo´ is a bit too generalizing, dont you think? Not only because they are all special in their own way, but also because it depends on each person..

I personally work very good with ayahuasca and have learned so much from it, but I know other people who simply dont work with it, who panic, can´t handle the purging effects, etc...

another I have tried a couple of times and didnt write about is LSA... will do it some other time

echh i dont even think lsa is worth putting in such an otherwise well thought out original post please dont disgrace the other beautiful entheos with putting it in the same category

yeah true
but I have tried aya also and for me it was like a nice lightshow and everything but Salvia has shown me much about the nature of our reality and others and how they are connected and how we can access them. I have met entities that were able to see our reality but also others. I have lived livetimes in other bodies in other realities in my little 10 minute trip.
and it doesnt hurt when the buzz kicks in. with dmt I thought my head was gonna burst a blood vessel when it hit me. Salvia is much smoother. true it does give the skin crawling sensation but thats part of how you access other dimensions. your thought itself is flipped or inverted.
but yeah for me it is the most interesting.
sometime I want to document all my experience with it and my methods. I think others could benefit from it and see it from a different perspective than "oh man it felt so wierd and made my skin crawl ect..."

yeah Iboga could help millions and maybe billions of people overcoming addiction
Amanita is up there too on the entheo ladder
Silene Capensis I havent tested thoroughly yet but so far I think Salvia brings me way more vivid dreams. I get vivid long long dreams every night for 2 weeks after doing Salvia.

I think everybody has there own entheogen that works for them...no one is best...

Iboga could DEF. help millions...

Silene Capensis I too have never used...But it's held in extremely high esteem by Shamans in Africa...

I think dreams work better for some people for connecting with God then Entheogenic trips do...

Again, to each his own...

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. I like the descriptions so I wont bother making a post that would end up looking very similare to what endlessness wrote.

I think they all have overlaping characteristics.
They all have different shapes and cognitive blueprints(tools) some of which overlap in certain places.

I disagree with who ever said that lsa doesnt compare to any of the psychedelics mentioned. I mean, I strongly disagree.

Lastly, I think lsd has just as much of a "being" within its structures. Its just a bit more "sciency".
Of all the psychedelics mentioned, I think lsd is the most complex and computer-like at heart. It is for me, a rich but somehow dry experience filled with an insanely wide variety of cognitive tools.
You can fine tune your mind and for this reason I feel it is the sharpest psychedelic insturment.

I know how it works for me, and it is the most complex psychedelic, but least alien and has fewer grey areas filled with the impossible. I think that is its "being". Kind of fitting that it was made by man.
\-------------------------------------------------------

I will compare them in a different way than endless did to keep this thread interesting.
As a musician I would like to compare them musically:

mescaline:
During- cant play for shit. Fingers numb. Musical thoughts seem very sober but disorganized.
Audiovisuals- Pretty cool, not very pronounced. Slowed down audio shapes. Sloth like
After- Emotionally inspiring. The maths which music is made of seem a bit more complex.

mushrooms:

During- Cant play very well, but I think of all sorts of wild ideas.
Not prone to making complex shapes but am instead prone to just having fun and making uncommon musical statements.
Audiovisuals- Not thoroughly present. They slip in and out. They are wild and unruley. If you are ever lucky enough to peak into(be granted access) to the roots of the sound you can find unspeakable things. Stuff I dont talk about. Millions of machines and you can throw sound at them and they will react
After- I play music more emotionally. No big changes in my ability to organize musical thought while improvising.

Ayahuasca:
During- Cant play at all. Im better off sticking with a rattle and my ability to whistle
Audiovisuals-All encompassing. Has the audio personality of all drugs combined, but still much harder to explore than lsd. Many many levels.
After- same as mushrooms but magnified, especially emotionally.

Smoked dmt:
during- near impossible to play
audiovisuals- They go where they want to take you but I usually dont have the time to mess with them during a 16 min experience.
Like mushrooms but they are constant if you know how to hear them.
After- Hmmm not much. Perhapse I play in a more controlled and still way. My mind shuts off and the music plays through me.
Much like meditation.

Lsd:
The end all be all
During- I can see the music and the math machines inside me make me feel like im in a cosmic classroom filled with archetypes and endlessly layered and interwoven music.
audiovisuals- Most complex thing I have ever heard in my life.
It is endlessly layered and easier to work with than any of the others. Sounds like a thousand computers making love. Not as much personality as the others, but its easier to hear and far more complex at first glance.
After- I can not even explain what lsd has done for me musically.
It did for me what it did for coltrane. Made my music come from a different place. One that is purely mathematical and inherently divine. "God" loves it when I play because it gets to express its self. The fingerprint of god is the giver of all maths and all that is true and finite. I can see the maths, the shapes, the colors, the intentions, the golden mean, and my emotions within my improvisation(and how these things are as interwoven as everything else in the universe).
A fractal within a fractal within a fractal, etc.

I can weigh objects in a more refined way than with these other, more emotional psychedelics. There are no straight shots to some unknown place or state of mind. You have to go through the whole system and you can see the complexity of this network of divine machines along the way.

I love how you compared the entheogens on musical terms.

Once on a recent powerful LSD trip, as a few friends and I were peaking, we played the best song I think we've ever played as a group. I've never been that inside a song. It felt as if the song had played out every major event in my life, and this was so amazing that I couldn't stop laughing, but kept playing the entire time.
