Be yourself.

What actually does it mean to be yourself? As if somehow you had your own identity that you created yourself. It's like you want to be different but realize that you are more like other poeple than you think.

So basically our personalities are created from being around other people and learning what you want to do and what not to do to keep friends. No one likes an asshole! So if you are one maybe you don't realize that you being yourself can lose friends.

It's like being ourselves is what we want to do, but can't for there is this social structure that most people go by. If you are being yourself and you have plenty of friends and you "fit in" more power to you!

So.. Just be yourself... If you can!

I think a big part of what we think is ourself is a series of defense mechanisms we've built through the years. Learning to be yourself involves examining and breaking down these identities you've created to hide in.

everyone changes.

we all make minor adjustments around other people so we don't hurt, offend them, or expose them to things that may confuse or make them uncomfortable.

and theres nothing wrong with that. it's just how comfortable we are and how we grow to know people. but it's important to be an honest person, and to be true to what is and who is right.

and when it comes down to it, really, what is 'you'? aren't we all the same when we're born, maybe, and maybe our personality is created through direct and indirect influences in our lives?

so who is to tell us who we are, and who we aren't?
