Is anybody here Wiccan?
    #7173545 -

I used to study it. It made more sense to me than most things. I'm thinking bout starting my studies again. I have missed it alot, it'd be nice to have someone to talk to that is studying it also.

"How do we know whether the life of any creature has fulfilled its destiny? I have known the very old to die in bitterness and despair. I have seen young children die before their time but leave behind such a legacy of love and joy that grief for their passing was tempered by the knowledge that their brief lives had given much to others."
"You have answered your own question,Tanis Half-Elven, far better than I could," the Forestmaster said gravely. "Say that that our lives are measured not by gain but by giving." -Dragonlance "Dragons of Autumn Twilight"

Theres a moderator on the shroomery called "wiccan_seeker"

I'm sure he might be interested at least a little. I'm pretty unfamiliar with it though, isn't there a belief in magic involved?

Yea it's something like that. I talked to him.

I think it's just more spiritual than anything.

I used to identify as "Wiccan." I was researching it extensively and it greatly appealed to me during a time in my life when I was living in this very small, Baptist town. I remember some of my brother's friends were really interested in it as well, so I started teaching them about it a little, explaining what it meant and started putting them on that spiritual path, but they were probably about 12 at the time (I was 14) and I remember their parents found out and got very upset. They came to my house to inform my mother that I was "practicing witchcraft." My mother was like "So? It's a very empowering religion for females and I think it's healthy that she's exploring this" and they were completely shocked that my mother was so lax about it. After that, they didn't allow their kids to come over anymore. Incidents like that have completely skewed my view of traditionalist Christians (I know, I shouldn't make any broad generalizations, but I had some extremely bad experiences from being a religious outsider)

I'm interested in it, I like the fact it's a very "natural" religion, very in tune with nature and such. But I don't know enough about it to claim anything more than interest.

If I was obliged to choose a religion it would definitely be Wicca.

I studied it quite a bit and relate to some things like how they feel about nature and energies as such, but one of their first statements is that there is no God or Higher Power. I could never get past this.

I'm not exactly an expert here, but I'm pretty sure Wiccans believe in a God and a Goddess.

It's a really interesting religion, and I intend to delve deeper into it in the future, but my main interest is in Buddhism.

Ur very right most Wiccans believe in a God and a Goddess, and some only believe in a Goddess. I've never heard of any that don't believe in a higher power.

They claim the only divinity is from within. Maybe there are different groups that have different beliefs, but these are the types I have run across the most.

I was into Wicca back in High School. I find it's a good foundational religion. It teaches reverence for nature, male-female duality, basic magick, karma, and isn't loaded with a bunch of dogma. I find that it doesn't quite have the mystical component that I seek, but I use pagan spirituality in order to tune in to certain vibes. I often use pagan symbolism to invoke the sacred feminine.
