women and shoes

Does anyone with a penis understand this phenomena at all?

Now, I can understand having some materialist obsession with getting as many pairs of shoes as possible.
What I dont get is the shoe awe..... meaning, when one woman sees another woman with shoes she likes, she flips out and asks how much she paid for them and where she got them (not in that order).
Woman A can have a 2 inch heel that is black with one strap and a silver buckle/clasp..... and Woman B can have that exact same shoe, except the buckle/clasp is a slightly less shiny shade of silver..... and both women will act like the others shoe is some amazing, unique shoe that they just have to have.
The other day I observed a group of females in a shoe store, and they kept working themselves into a consumer frenzy as they walked along the row picking up and molesting every single shoe... with each "different" shoe they would gasp with excitement and awe even though the only difference I could tell between that shoe and the last 14 pairs of shoes they picked up was the size difference.

so what the fuck? am I over-simplifying things here? or is it really just that fucking ridiculously stupid?

It really is incredibly stupid. And no I dont understand it any better than you. I just wish my girlfriend spent as much attention and money on me sometimes as she does to her feet whenever she approaches a shop.

I've noticed this phenomena too, and you were right about the first part.  They literally do have "some materialist obsession with getting as many pairs of shoes as possible."

The other part is just them feeling out the other person through conversation.  They're not even talking about shoes, if you watch/listen closely.  They're sizing each other up and making judgements accordingly.  :yesnod:
