The US armed forces' job is to protect America's interest, and right now...America's interest is oil. Its clearly a negative now, but who knows, maybe it will be a positive in the long run.

And remember this, there is no peace without war. If humans are capable of living in peace without violence before hand, then we would of been doing it for 1000s of years already...

Ghandi was a very peaceful person, and peace is the ONLY thing he used. And it worked for a little bit. But then it just lead to over a million people dead.

War is extremely horible and violent. But its necessary in order to eventually have peace. And don't think for a second that violence doesn't solve anything because it has solved A LOT of things.

forgot to add something.

You should show respect for him being in the army. With out people like him, you would be forced to fight. The government isn't afraid to draft if they have to. If our government wants to fight a war they will do so if they have people willingly wanting to fight or not. So respect people who join our military and fight so you don't have to.
