On Star Trek, it's called "The Prime Directive."

Kirk violated the Prime Directive on every other episode. He loved messing with alien cultures and kicking reptilian (or whatever) booty.

The more touchy, feely Picard would only fuck with non-human society on every third episode to reflect the more sensitive times.

Humans do like to show everybody who is right. Arrogance is our defining trait.

Yes, I was under the influence of one medium-sized psilocybin cubensis mushroom.
It seems that the harder I'm tripping, the more I can pick up on outside forces.
Under normal, sober circumstances I don't think I am sensitive enough to allow them to consciously communicate with me. I am sure they communicate with me all the time, except most of the time I block it out. Sometimes while I am completely sober, I am aware of their prescence, but it's so faint I can't consciously pick it up. Mushrooms are what brings me into full conscious communication with them (so far).
Keep in mind I am not completely certain they are extra-terrestrials...
They could be archetypes of my mind, humans from the future, the spirit of the Earth... who knows for sure? What I do know is that I experienced a very "alien" prescence multiple times.

Ah, honesty, lack of self deluded certainty. Master Sclorch should be pleased with this Padawan's progress.

Indeed I am. I wish all alien-type threads ended like this one.

suddenly saw images flashing of large headed grey beings

I am a large, gray headed being (some say big headed too, but that's another thread for another board), did you see me there too? Because I think I remember you. Lots of hair, dilated pupils, tee shirt. Yes, I'm sure of it! And you were trying to control my thoughts!

2. Heightened awareness and physical response (fight or flight) due to increased adrenaline. In this state your eyesight, hearing, strength and speed are near their optimum levels.

Damn, I thought you said "opium" levels! I guess I won't be jumping into the Polar Bear pit anymore.
