Why aren't we in the void?

Why aren't we at one with everything, why are we split into units of billions?

If separation is an illusion, then why are we separate?

Separateness of form is self-evidently not an illusion. There are word-forms, body-forms, thought-forms, energy-forms, that are separate from the form of your body. The illusion, in my opinion, is that they arise from something separate - that you, a tree, and your thoughts about the tree all came from separate grounds of being. Logically, how can there be anything but one eternal ground of being?

Reality has always been and always will be, just as nothingness has always been and always will be. It's existence is a consequence of the void's reality (and vice versa), just as mountains are inextricably linked with valleys.

There is really no difference between the void and the manifestations of being, the names we give to them are what divide their essential integrity into two.

If your question is more specific, perhaps teleological, in the sense that you are asking 'Why do we, specifically (you and I) exist?" my answer would then be that uncountable random events aggregated into the probability of your conception and then more random events shaped who you became. There is probably no legitimate teleology, but only smoke and mirrors which obscurely reflect our desire for higher meaning in an already ultimately meaningful world. We become the tools of our mental tools as well as our physical, and the visions we dreamed to free our minds ultimately bind and blind us.
