I appreciate what you are saying Markos, but each system is within a larger system onto infinity, so things can only exist in a relative way. The vastness makes everything infinitely small and subjective. So things we experience are just fabricated by conceptual thinking. Even awareness is just an insubstantial product of a larger system, of a larger system.

I don't like feeling this way, but sometimes I can't help it. When mediate, trip or get high I just see this space, this absence of all real things. People talk alot about some profound thing behind existence, but all I see is a lack of it. Sure things matter and they function, but behind meaning and functionality is just more illusion and automation.

No. Behind the ephemeral, whether a mountain or a cloud (for both are ephemeral relative to eternity) is GOD.

I guess wise folks, wise sorts full of wisdom, long bearded old men that aren't myself, would never attempt to persuade you to see differently. They'd ask questions instead, like:
"Is the void really empty, or does it lie fallow?"
But that question is meaningless to one who believes in meaninglessness, and it's fine to believe in meaninglessness, because most people are comforted when holding on to some sort of belief, forgetting about all the fun that's to be had with an open mind, or a mind free of the burdens of pesky beliefs, positive or negative.
But we live in a world where non-belief is the greatest crime you can commit against yerself and others, cuz if you're not a theist then damnit all to hell you should be a spittle-spitting atheist or pantheist and so on. These are the same people who talk of meaning, forgetting that to the pseudo-nihilist this is like a bath in onion water??"shit, if all these people have found meaning, why can't I find meaning? Christ I stink."
But this is illusion as they say because really all belief and meaning and non-belief and rational discourse and even diaper-changing is the result of brain circuitry??who gives a shit how that brain got to be there etc., you've got it, use it??and throughout the course of a day we lapse in and out of different circuits. From basic circuits up and up through meta-circuits and then thangs get tricky and if we're not careful we get splashed in the face with a half-empty glass of water and Holy Mother! It's EMPTY now! When all you had to do all along is remember that there is no glass, and if there is it's you??stop being ensnared in the social web of this site and your job and friends family lovers and start listening to yourself, or talking to yourself, and pay attention throughout the day how many times you lapse into your survival circuit, your language circuit, your territorial circuit, your meta-whatever circuit and try to reprogram your indulgent, pessimistic thoughts in whichever way helps to tie your shoes and eat your breakfast and stop thinking about the fucking void because it doesn't exist never has never will.

But then again, maybe it does... always has, always will...

Well, my once-every-few-months post is done again and I feel pretty darn good. Talking to myself here, learning alot. Gonna make some coffee,, sit on my proch and enjoy the saturday afternoon thunderstorm moving in... I have a porch! There's such a thing as a thunderstorm! Life is the darndest thing...

I know the first time I experienced The Void, I was a young kid watching The Never Ending Story, and I just could not fathom, the nothing that was destroying fantasia :frown:

in an idealistic sense... the void cannot exist.  the idea of teh void as no substance is in fact its own substance.

Semantic twisting and turning aside, the void would lie without any substance, even the substance of not having substance. Perhaps one should investigate into the realm within which substance exists... it isn't within the void, it isn't within phenomenon itself... its within one's own mind.

Any substance, any meaning you imply onto the void is not the substance and meaning of the void, no matter which way one cleverly plays with thoughts to make it appear so.
