I found one!!!!, well actually my Facilitator found one, but he gave it to me, and its frying in butter an garlic as we speak

Good luck man. One thing to think about is how to retain that flavor. . .the best way I've found is to saute up every morel in a bit of oil, butter, garlic, whatever your preference, but then after things are cooked FREEZE it. I just pulled a morel saute from last year and it tastes just like the day I found them

One experiment I plan to try out this year is smoking fresh morels in a Little Chief smoker [alder chips, of course!]. It wouldn't take long, could be a pretty interesting flavor.

The picture of the ones I found were my first too! Fried them up less than an hour after I picked them!!!

i've never tried morels, but after hearing so much about how good they are, i ordered some on ebay. i would go hunting, but i think the season is over here
