no rust no fuss!!!!!
    #655125 -

Ive noticed(and so has everyone else) that when using jars and micro filters the lids leave rust.if you dont want rust but dont want to buy the plastic lids use coffee filter on top of the micro filter while pc'ing. then just remove the coffee filter and continue the way you would either by innoculating and covering with a second micro filter or using a plastic cap with a hole in it.

i know that people dont think that rust is a problem but i beg to differ when you can see rust through your filter and its on both side it means that rust has penetrated the filter leaving microscopic holes. now its not like huge holes but if you like me im very concerned when it comes to my jars.
or you can forget rust and use myco bags

if you want to spend the extra money, get the plastic lids from www.sporeworks.com, they are nice you can drill a large gas exchange hole and an innoculation hole, and it fits very nicely plus, they will withstand the pressure cooker

You know, there is a going theory that many chemical changes (especially rust) cannot occur without the presence of certain nanobacteria. I know it sounds kookie, I guess you'll have to buy a book about it and read it before you criticize me and say that its a stupid idea...
Then what do i know about anything?
