hi...XAZIA

This is what i do.

I clean the crap off the filter disc in the sink.
Then when i have a bunch....i throw them in the laundry with a little bleach.
I don't dry them in the dryer long.
If you use the metal lids....your gonna have rust stains....but that doesn't seem to hurt them much...they just don't look new.
Think i will invest in alot of plastic lids....lolz

Xazia....Is there really that big of a difference in colonization time? I've never used them myself.

1/2 pt jars with birdseed, filters and lid bands only, innoc. with pesa haw (1cc), put in incubator at 84 deg., fully colonized in four days.

then mixed with dung, loaded into quart jars with lid bands and filters only, placed in incubator at 84 deg. fully colonized in 4-5 days. i let them sit an extra day or two at this stage to allow the mycelial network to get very strong and really rhizomorphic. then i case with 50/50 sphagnum moss and verm.
sweet!!

Mycelium innoculation or multispore? What size jar also, half-pint, pint, quart, half-gallon? I want to get a feel for how much faster you go than me. Even if you are doing half-pint with mycelium you are beating mine by a good week or two.

innoculating 1/2 pt birdseed jars with syringe made from print (mind you i made only ONE syringe from the entire print, but i use 12cc syringes) using 1cc each jar. after 100% colonization, i sterilize dung in the pressure cooker in quart size jars. then i mix my birdseed and dung 50/50 and load back in the quart jars, place in incubator. on the 6th or seventh day i case 1 and a half quart jars each casing with sphagnum & verm 50/50.

is it possible to just soak them in alcohol? considering it destroys life.

i thought running the filters through the wash would spread the fabric or at least cause some damage.....................>?
