Q: Why does the United States give $6,000,000,000 a year in foreign aid to Israel?

6 billion isn't enough. I think we should give them more like 20 and a couple tons of highly fissionable material and some medium distance missles every year, or maybe just a couple fully equiped nuclear subs would do... They are our ONLY real allie and also our only friend in the middle east. It's not about oil, if it was we never would have messed with Iraq. We can buyt oil from them just as easily as kuwait. Iraq can't drink all that oil, and oil in the ground is just as worthless as their sand. And besides, now only about 13% of our total oil comes from the middle east. And we have as much oil in the gulf of mexico and off of florida still in the ground as there is in the entire middle east.

the short answer: i am of the persuasion that the United States is in need of a foothold in the Middle East... Isreal is that foothold. Isreal is becoming the United States in the middle east....

Yeah, I guess the foothold and the Jewish lobby are most accurate, official or otherwise. I'd heard that it had a lot to do with compensation for the Holocaust, and I was going to suggest a few other nations who might qualify. You know, spread those billions out.
I don't have any problem with rich countries giving foreign aid--it justifies our current system of filtering the riches out of poor countries. There must be a better system overall, though...
But Israel? God bless 'em and their quest for Zion, but if one man's Zion creates another man's Hell, it's only a delusion. Maybe a tap on their allowance would force them to consider other avenues.

What's more unbelievable that we gave them and extra 200 million to help them pay for the Palestinian oppression costs, and only 50 to the Palestinian in aid for the destruction done by the Israelis.
