B+ rye to spawn tubs

Hey shroomery, I'm in the middle of my first bulk attempt right now and thought I'd share my progress. I haven't had much luck in the past so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed on this one.

I started with several LC's. 4 half pints with karo light corn syrup & distilled water were inoculated with B+ spores.



I prepared tons of rye to fill my 16 pint jars. Soaked it 24 hours, Simmered around 30 minutes then drained well.



One culture was easily enough to inoculate all my jars.



Fast foward about 12 days to complete colonization. Not as rhizo as I would've hoped.



I've always used a PMP or martha to fruit so this'll be my first monotub. The other container will be going in the martha. In the pic you see both tubs cleaned, trash bagged and cleaned again.



Popped 8 Jars into these plastic bowls to be broken up.



Broken up, covered with foil.



Next I spread my 50/50 prepasturized tennstud in one tub, broke it up so it was nice and airy then dumped the bowl in the tub, mixed well and moved to the next. Each tub's spawn is about 4-5'' deep.



It has taken longer than I had expected but my tub is colonizing nicely. I'll probably case it tomorrow or the following day. I have no idea how my casing tub is doing since it hasn't been opened yet.



A pic of my other (smaller) tub. It isn't nearly as far along but I think thats because co2 buildup stalled it. I cleaned my bathroom, took the lid off and fanned it for about 5-10 sec. We'll see if that produces any results.



Thats as far as things are right now. I'll keep the thread updated.

What size (how many gallons) tub are you using?

Your off to a much better start then me friend...im still trying to get my DAM berry's to not contam after innoc  :confused: ...But its looking good 2 me :thumbup:..keep us updated with them pinning @ fruiting pix :mushroom2:!!!

Hang in there my friend,I remember when everything I tried would contaminate,you will get it right if you hang in there and once you figure out how to do it right it gets easier and easier

*bump* I checked my other tub for the first time (pic) since spawning and its not nearly as far along as my mono. I'll attribute this to much less air volume and no gas exchange, stalling it. I'd like some input on that though.
