Trouble with this statement is it is BS. Soon enough someone will fall out of love and that will suck also. If the positive side of reality is based on someone else or something outside yourself you are doomed.

The statement isn't BS, though. Being in love doesn't suck. Falling out of love does suck. One follows the other, but they certainly aren't contradictory.

I would go a step further and saying that conditional love does not really exist; it is a dim reflection of an inexhaustible supply of Love balled up in a neurotic personality-structure.  Or something like that.

My phrasing has not been of very good form the last couple days, and I apologize. I should have perhaps stated that the one thing that does suck is placing conditions on one's conscious experience of love. :wink:

I recognize love as being a natural emotional state that we remove ourselves from by placing demands and expectations of reality that we want fufilled before we will allow ourselves to experience it. Why inflict suffering upon ourselves?

Suffering is inevitable. Suffering only gains positive value within the context of love.  Love hurts, but it's so worth it.

Loving someone is very different than being in love. Rarely do lovers Love each other. Take the possibility of sex and hormones out of it and everybody goes home. Unless they're afraid of sex of course.

That's my point, though - love itself does not hurt. Suffering that is associated with the experience of love could only be resultant from attachment, which is not required for the state of being in love, and only limits one's being within it.

Unconditional love is a constant state that does not lie dependant upon any aspect of one's external reality to be fufilled. :wink:

Of course poor boy.

When something happens like this which it so often does; we have two choices.

Take it personally and decide they are shit and our life is ruined.

Or don't take it personally and decide they are unskillfull but still not evil and you and your life are much better off now that you know and you are now free for something better.

Whichever you choose, those are the lessons and experiences you need and are ready for.

Of course you can take it serious. You can do anything you like. You have free choice. :thumbup: If I may make a suggestion though. Pay attention to the results of your choices and if you don't like them try others. Many if not most of us will try the same choice over and over for a lifetime thinking we are going to get a different result. Think outside the box. :adam1975:
