happiness

n 1: state of well-being characterized by emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy [syn: felicity] [ant: unhappiness] 2: emotions experienced when in a state of well-being [ant: sadness]

Here's a Websters definition of the word and this one fits my use of it- feeling a sense of good general well-being, contentment to intense joy. To be in intense joy 24/7 would be "to much to handle". :lol:

To be in general good well being and contentment most of the time with regular phases of moving up and back from intense joy is ideal to me.

Like anyone else, I have bad thinking habits that can sink me below contentment for a spell. Though as soon as it dawns on me that I am feeling like crap, I apply the supporting thought forms I listed to pull me back up to at least contentment again. Anything below contentment is self punishment. Self punishment makes no sense.

Happiness to me is conditional only on ones own willingness to let go of whatever is weighing them down. I think unconditional happiness would only be possible if ego was 100% removed. By ego, I mean the sense of self that thinks it's separate from the Universal spirit self.
