hi...guys

I got some horse poo from Pav the other day.
So I pasturized it and spawned it with the Keepers Creeper strain.
This picture is of the colonizing poo.....day 2.



Sorry my camera suks.
All the white patches is mycellium breaking through the poo.
This is the shit....think I?ll be doing more poo casings.[image]/forums/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/image]

probably should have bro.

but I didn?t have alot of poo and I wanted to make 2 casings.

I have 2 casings like this one.....with Keepers Creepers in them both.

They both have 3" of poo.

I?ll post update pics tonight.

Duude, I dont know about that - if I get a chance to take a pic or two of my friend tripyfungi?s setup before I leave town, your going to get to see some honking big shrooms coming up out of an uncased manure layer that was spawned w / birdseed - the manure layer is probably 4-5 inches in some places.

Ah well I guess thats not that much different from 3 inches, I?ll shut up now.

Spawned with 1/2 Pint of Golden Teacher, compliments of KoOS?. This is 5 days growth... approx. 2 quarts of horsy plop.




Yes, one half-pint can go quite a long ways

hehe, well i dunno for sure at all, afoaf just started working with dung, i read in someone who was experience with it saying around 3 inches, im sure plus or minus of course... but yea i mean it could totally be off... just what i read in a post..

Can you quickly explain your spawning proceedure? What substrate did you spawn w/? Did you blend? etc?

I?ll answer you both.

Got horse poo from Pav.
Pasturized horse poo in a pillow case, in a large pot of mineral water for 30 to 40 minutes....at 160 to 170 degrees....used a Candy Thermometer.
Drained the dripping juice into the pot....wanted to keep it....for BRF jars later.
Let it sit in the sink to finish draining for about an hour....then squeezed out the pillow case some more.
I took a keepers creeper cake and put it in the food processor and mixed it up.
"Spawned one jar in each container with horse poo....1/2 a jar would have worked"
Washed hand and put broken up cake into the horse poo....and mixed by hand.
I love the feel of good poo!
Stuck in incubator.....and as you see it?s taking off quite well.
I?ll go take a picture right now.....brb
