Peroxide in Humidifier?
    #5963475 - 08/14/06 05:24 PM (17 years, 5 months ago)

This guy I know wants to know if he should use peroxide in his cool mist and ultra sonic humidifier? Or is this not necassary? He thinks it might keep his martha set-up more contam resistant. Let me know what you think so I can tell him. Thanks

I usually put a couple "glugs" in my cool mist. This is about the only thing I use h2o2 for. That and combating cobweb. Whether it is "necessary" is debatable and deponds someone on the environment around your FC and humidifier. For example, using regular distilled water is more than sufficient for some.

It's not going to do anything for contamination in the ultrasonic as it vaporizes, and make sure nothing is directly under your cool mist hose otherwise H2O2 water could be dripping on it. But yes, you should use it for bacterial content in the humidifiers.
