Peroxide in the Perlite?

I decided to put some perlite into my terrarium the other day. I read a tek that said he put some peroxide in the perlite to help keep contaminates out and another that talked about placing the cakes directly on the perlite.

So right now I have my cakes directly on the perlite because it looks like the cakes might have dried out a bit. I can't put peroxide in the perlite now, correct? Or should I wait till I've taken the cakes off the perlite? Is peroxide really that big of a deal when using perlite?

I have used peroxide. it seemed to work well. but i put my cakes on foil. after using the perilite about 3 weeks, it started growing purple masses. I scooped out that shyt, and added some peroxide. not sure what ratio you should use in your case though.

peroxide is H2O2. it decomposes into H2O and O2 really really quickly. i dont know how fast that happens, but i know that it's for the most part pretty fast. you know those crest whitening strips? those are just h2o2. they clean your mouth. peroxide is also used like to clean cuts to stop infection etc. i dont see anything wrong with putting the cakes on it.

use a 1/100 solution......but do not put the cakes directly on the perlite

Had real good results with putting cakes right on perilte with perox.
4th flush was not only a pleasent suprise, but quite impressive.
Just make sure the cakes are above the liquid level.

I put my cakes on tin foil with some verm under them to keep them off of the peroxide/perlite, and so far i'm having pretty good results.

Hmmm... I never thought of putting my cakes on top of foil. I'll have to do that.
