I've never used it though. What's the general idea behind it? You make a page about yourself showing of your e-penis. Then you browse some other pages of people with related interests and/or location. Then you add them to your friends list, chat with them (via IM or via a myspace chat?). Then you hope you get laid of of it. Is that about correct?

I intended on using it primarily for art marketing purposes, but I too have also reconnected with an old friend, which was cool.

It is true, that it is full of teenagers and cam-girls, but so is life. It is a truly huge online community, and it is growing. It's taken me a while to figure out how to navigate through all the crap, but I am starting to find some interesting artists and art lovers now, and I think I've just scratched the surface. New memes take time to acclimate to and learn to navigate.

There is no way that MySpace is a threat to something like the Shroomery. It's simply another facet of cyberspace, and as Ythan pointed out, our presence there has brought new members in, which is always good. I understand the annoyance factor for some of you, but I'm kinda excited about it right now; like a kid with a new toy...
