a sort of astral projection/ego loss

well I came across this today, and with one try I had much success.

I was laying on my back, on my bed, totally comfortable. I had been thinking alot about ego loss, not just for shits n giggles, but because my mind loops, races, and worries too much. At times the mind needs to be blank, and at peace.

I began to take deep breaths, breathing through the diaphram, slow breaths, 4 per min or less. I envisioned my ego being torn from my head, I could feel it being ripped out. I began to picture it floating out my bedroom door, and to the trash can. On the way to the trash-can I view everything, the table, posters, couch. When I get to the trash can I throw it in, and scrunch it down with the other trash.

Now that was the easy part.

Now my ego is in the trash, and there is nothing floating through the air. All that is, is nothing, and that nothing turns around towards the living room. Its getting harder and harder. I can picture the sofa, but its hard to picture it. I turn left and the kitchen table is there. I get to my bedroom door. Its getting harder as I get closer to my body. I enter my bedroom. Harder, harder, I cant take it, and I break out of the meditation.

It was very powerfull. My goal is to try and make it back to my skull. The reason its so powerfull is because as soon as one throws his or her ego away, what is floating is a mystery. I beleive this was my firt taste of ego loss.

This was done completely sober.

Anyone else have any stories, etc..

no need to achieve

yea. I dont think it was an attempt to rid of it forever, just to ease my mind from the hectic world.

if you had ego loss i'm not sure that you would be imagining and seeing couches and rooms.

the fact that you can meditate out of body is extraordinary though!

this is just visualization tripping.
the encouraging thing is that it gave you some peace from your loop stuff.

visualization definitely includes body sensation as well.
in the mind everything is connected.

follow the breath for a gentle habit. one that does not add extra stuff to the turmoiling mind. visualization is actually extra stuff.

like twanging an elastic.
sometimes it counters another pulse but it is an added thing.
