Re: Too much drinking? [Re: Boom]

I used to drink last semester literally ever night of the week for the 3 solid months. Mostly hard liquor (vodka, jack Daniels, yager bombs). I dont think there was a night we went without a handle of something. I mean flat out blacking sometimes, vomiting. Hell we would all gather money everyday at 1 pm then head off to the liquor store and be wasted by 5 6 pm and have to go back to get more. Other than gaining about 20 lbs, I have had no long term side effects except for flunking out of college, getting busted with pot, spending some time in a jail. I would recommend not to drink so much, but if you and your body can handle it then use at your own risk.

i drink heavily (as in getting really wasted atleast 12+ beers) only several times a year, other than that i just have occasional beer or two with sauna or in bar.. i used to drink way too much and binge for weeks but killer hangovers prevent it these days..

Today is where i call an end to the binge. Today i have felt tired, depressed, empty, lacked appetite and generally felt run down. Today i haven't drank that much, maybe about 4 cans throughout the day. I found it harder than ever to stomach them, my insides already feel twisted. I haven't slept much throughout this week and with the sleep i have had iv always been under the influence, so my sleep has been pretty light and shitty, with fucked up dreams screwing with my head.

Papa Roach - Binge

All I need is bottle and I don't need no friends
Now wallow in my pain, I swallow as I pretend
To act like I'm happy when I drink till no end
I'm losing all my friends, I'm losing in the end she says
Behave little boy, you better sit back down
Till you hold your ground
It's your turn to fight, you better sit back down
Till you hold your ground
When I'm sober, life bores me, so I get drunk again
I'm losing my friends, I'm losing in the end she says
You better sit back down, you better put that down
Put the bottle down, I am on a binge
I am on a binge, I wish things would change
Wished they'd rearrange, I'm on a binge

This type of thinking kind of disturbs me. It seems like some people think it's okay to get wasted so as long as they can function in society. What people seem to ignore is that alcohol is toxic, especially if you're getting drunk off of it. Drinking a beer a day might be alright and possibly strengthen your immune system but I still don't think it's a good idea. Take care of your bodies, people. You don't want to be living with a liver problem when you're middle aged and with beer gut.

I understand what you mean and I know it's not healthy, but since I have no obligation to anyone but myself, I don't see any problem with it right now. No girlfriend, wife, kids, so on. Things like that.

Make no mistake, although your drinking patterns are not yet alcoholic they are still very much abusive.

The question you have to ask yourself is if your drinking is impeding on your day-to-day life. A few beers after work to relax is an entirely different story to topping off a sixpack and turning up to work the next day with a bad case of rotgut. Not only will you appear sloppy and unproductive, you also run the risk of developing serious longterm conditions.

Try to limit your drinking to the weekend. Not only will you soon discover how vile you feel after drinking solidly for an entire weekend, you will also maintain the fabric of society with your sobriety.

You are very much correct BorgFace. I realise that soberiety is the way to keep friends, a health body and a happy mind. That IS how its going to be, but yet again, tonight, im pretty wrecked. So much for the halt with the alcohol.

Frankly I don't know how anyone can binge drink on a regular basis. I feel so shitty after binge drinking that the LAST thing I want the next day is a beer. It repulses me to even think about it.

If you can stay clean and sober for a week or so, and then you get trashed, you will see how utterly hard alcohol is on your body, mind and health.

Just to say, i still drink alot, maybe 4 - 5 times a week, wasted at least two or three times throughout.

I mean, I'm planning on having a few beverages later this evening.

I'v accepeted it, im not alcoholic, i just like a good drink, nothing wrong with that.

Peace,
Mushie Man

It's been over 3 months since I touched a drink. I'm not doin' AA or anything. Could never say that I am an alcoholic. The trick is to say I am alcoholic, not an alcoholic.
I know that at this point in my life I have a drinking problem. If I continue drinking I will not get to where I am working so hard to get to. Medschool
