balance of the earth
    #5323350 -

I have learned many things in life on the path of darkness; the most important being there is always balance. light/dark sun/moon right/left. Its an intrinsic part of this world, and the only way around it is to embrace the dark side as well as the light. Yes, the world is positive.. but it is also negative.. and when there is inbalance.. the world will correct it. This is why in my view contributing to societ or any part of the world is folly--if you think its going to be perfect. My problem with todays ideas is the polarizing of forces, destruction=completely bad, love=completely good. Both of which have good and bad cases.

So, to "prove" my theory, i will give a nice little technique i learned from this discovery. If i really want the lighter side of something, i explore its negative side first, as vividly as possible, and 9 times out of ten, the positive side comes at me without my bidding, with the same intensity as i experienced the dark side. You can see the effects of the opposite way of doing this technique, because the road to hell is paved with good intentions, only the good die young, nothing lasts forever etc. Ok, do what you will with this information, have a good and bad day ^^

A civilization based on authority-and-submission is a civilization without the means of self-correction. Effective communication flows only one way: from master-group to servile-group. Any cyberneticist knows that such a one-way communication channel lacks feedback and cannot behave "intelligently."

the principle of authority" was the "eminently theological, metaphysical and political idea that the masses, always incapable of governing themselves, must submit at all times to the benevolent yoke of a wisdom and a justice, which in one way or another, is imposed from above."
"no one should be entrusted with power, inasmuch as anyone invested with authority must . . . became an oppressor and exploiter of society."

I respect your technique for gathering your understanding, and realize the importance of the concept of balance. I would like to state, though, that the Sun and moon aren't exactly lying opposite of each other, and the conceptual "positive and negative" are our own abstractions, and are not evident in reality itself.

If we choose to view the world through such a lens, then the balance between positive and negative would be apt, but the forces, events, situations, and people that are being considered on either side really just exist by their own right, free of such labels that we ourselves imply.

The ultimate view of balance places every single aspect/occurence within reality as perfectly in balance in relationship to every other aspect.

Not sure about that. The '1+1=much more' riddle is not solved yet, by far.

edit:Aehm, where was that stuff about duality again ? Sorry, if mixing threads.

I have found that by not placing positive and negative traits to everything, and experience everything as "just being" or its "isness", makes it all clearer.

I think the balance that you perceive is only conditioned internal responses battling over an idea or a part of reality in your head. I dont think you can ever see the whole of an event or thing while still trying to explore an illusory duality to it.

you are right about the balance thing, but don't forget that balance can shift to either side so that there will be a new balance.

well i made it overly simple.. positive and negative is an easily understandable concept. Indeed another way to look at it is that if you choose to experiencxe only one section of something.. the rest of it will come to you in time. I like to view it as a whole when possible, but i am only human, and my ego fears things. Basically this is a workaround for the ego, deal with the things it doesnt like first, and it will have no resistance. though perhaps yet another way to look at it is action and reaction. well at the same time its odd, its easy to look at it in a detached abstract way, but i cant ignore the fact that what i do with my mind effects my emotions alot. add to that the fact that when i listen to my intuition its kind of scary how much it knows about the real world.
