I was just thinking since Overgrow dealt a lot of with seeds, which is illegal here, it caused them to be shut down.

Now, the Shroomery has sponsors for spores...which aren't illegal. Well, just those few states.

I could be totally off, though.

Did these sites sell by creditcard? If so the cops now have the names and addresses of everyone who ordered from there. Assuming the cops do start raiding customers what offence have you commited by ordering from a site like this? Or is this offence only if you are caught in possession?

Perhaps they were more 'lax on responding to requests regarding the removal of legally objectionable material (ie. copyright infringements or drug solicitations). Perhaps they allowed the trading of seeds to transpire on their website. Canadian laws may be written and/or interpreted differently from US laws. But as I stated above, I would suspect that the authorities must have found some legal issues with direct respect to the proprietors of the other websites. Regardless, this is all speculation and we can only do what is in our power to protect ourselves - so be safe and be responsible!

Currently each new backup will overwrite the last. Though the entire database is kept on backup, PM's will be routinely purged from the active system and therefore older sensitive material will not be kept in the backup. Nevertheless, it is important for everyone to act responsibly for their own safety and the safety of those they care about when they are dealing with any activity deemed illegal by our governments. While one certainly shouldn't panic, one should also beware not to let the anonymity of the internet blanket oneself with a false sense of security.

There will always be a risk, but remember that spores are not illegal; and also that in an online community of some 40,000 users with millions of posts, it is nearly impossible that any legal authority would dedicate the resources necessary to go after every John and Jane that have sent a print somewhere. Though the government may waste money on making a point, I doubt they would waste that much money as it would likely damage their reputation in the public eye and probably result in a larger outcry for the legalization and decriminalization of such non-toxic substances, in lieu of throwing millions (billions?) of tax-payer revenue at the "problem".

Try www.archive.org and the Wayback machine. Haven't done it for awhile, but I used to be able to pull entire sites that were offline

I wonder if this friggin' raid and closure was the result by inference and suggestions of the American DEA and other U.S. drug policy enforcers trying to influence other countries into either your with us or against us policies.

Usually something that big is not a nations number one priority. Pot in Canada is a very low criminal priority and we know the U.S. and Bush arew down on Canada for their lenient and liberal pot laws.
I am sure they are working with the Canadian enforcement people.

I heard recently someone say that now pot money is being channeled to AL Quida. What a crock of shit.

Oh yeah, MJ? Have you been following the Big Three case in Canada? Marc Emery et al may be tried in the states under their marijuana laws. They're basically fucked.

This is a really crappy time right now. Apparently Marc's going to be on 60 Minutes on Sunday... I think, tomorrow-Sunday! So hopefully we all catch it. If anyone can post the time, I will be sure not to miss it. :frown:

Short of saving each individual thread to your harddrive, there is not such a system in place currently. I'm also not sure that we would want to distribute copies of the forums so freely since they may contain some personal information that a user let slip by and then came back to edit out.

You can however, download a [55 MB ZIP'd archive] of our [front end static-information] on mushroom cultivation.

Yep. I was able to save 846 pages of of FAQs. Just the text, no images, linked posts, or other such info, but at least some of the info is saved.
