I have never taken Zoloft. But, I have talked to people who were on it. They all complained of sexual side effects.

I was on Wellbutrin and Paxil for a month. It is horrible and I will never put anti-depressants in my body again.

what were the side effects man? i could easily google it, but those reports are so impersonal. I am pretty much against taking pills period. In fact, I usually resort to a healthy diet and smoking weed to ease my pussiness at times, but the thought of a "happy pill" does sound tempting, and those commercials that have been running for like 5 years now are starting to make we wonder...

i have heard lots of people suggest paxil, but shit man, i dont see how a fuckin pill is going to help someone.. its like putting novacaine on a severed finger, no?

I took Wellbutrin and Paxil at the same time so it is hard to discern which side effects were caused by which pill. I felt fidgety, crabby, on edge, I had no appetite, I lost a sizeable amount of weight (which is bad because I am already skinny), I only slept four hours a night, my mind felt like it was in a fog constantly, and I could not have an orgasm. Oh....and I had hardcore withdrawals as I tried to get off of Paxil.

It was a horrible month.

One thing about zoloft is if youre not depressed and take it it makes you have more energy. If you are, then it usually makes you calm and not so sensitive to everything, dont quote me on this I have a friend that takes it and that is what she said. Ive taken it, and ive never thought about fucking or anything so i dont know about the sexual side effects, but it is a good stimulant. Also it depends on the person...

Hello

The theory is that zoloft will rebalance chemicals in your brain that help you to keep a positive attitude and be a happy person in general. Supposedly this will take at least a few months but usually longer. Zoloft also does have an immediate effect of releiving depression, in my case. It pulled me right out of suicidal depression almost immediately (first day actually... it was very similar to a low dose of mdma), but it has been a little unstable so far (but getting moreso) and i feel normal like i havent felt in years.

Today was a horrible day however, being around my family gets me depressed no matter what it seems.

Ahh... and as for the sexual side effect comments; I have only gotten positive sexual side effects (if you consider random raging erections positive that is )

The thing about anti depressant medications seems to be that only certain ones work for certain people.

I have previously tried effexor xr and lexapro, and marijuana. Effexor semed to do nothing for me, and lexapro turned me into the living dead. Marijuana seemed to be working great for a while, but the negative social stigma that comes along with being a "pothead" eventually brought me back down in to depression.

Id suggest seeing a psychiatrist, and trying different meds. most likely you will find one that will work for you.

it just seems that the going trend is to accept depression as something that only pills can fix. i realize that is probably the furthest thing from the truth, but that is the impression i get from the world around me.

i was born into a pill-popping world... it makes you wonder how people dealt with depression in the past. i also wonder how different everything would be (especially art) if there were pills for depression as early as the 1600s.

i was diagnosed with ADD and manic depression when I was 15, but I refused any medication. I havent been evaluated since, but I feel good knowing that i had a choice, and I did what I thought was best for me.

Zoloft is not for everyone.
The shit made me into a walking Zombie. As did a number of other anti-depressants.

I know people on sertraline, they almost always say they prefer it over paroxetine. The problem is, it's hard-impossible to tell if it's akathisia.
