How does Consciousness arise from chaos?
Or maybe the better question is:
How does Consciousness arise in chaos?

My guess is it is an aspect of the creative principle within Tao. Tonal from Nagual etc. There could be other things besides consciousness that we no nothing of. That's a mind bender.

Taoism and Zen seem to have had a big influence on Kerry Thornley and his joke diguised as a religion diguised as a joke. Wikipedia even goes as far as saying that Discordianism is "Zen for round-eyes."
(Kerry Thornley is a co-founder of Discordianism and 'The Second Oswald' according to Jim Garrison. He was also a paranoid schizophrenic.)
But back to the topic... I really don't know enough about physics to make any reasonable statement, but if we define 'Chaos' as sponteniety or randomness, then I would probably disagree with its existence, since that violates casuality. Everything seems to have causes and effects, just because we cannot currently understand the movement of subatomic particles doesn't mean they are necessarily random. We might just not understand subatomic physics yet. If we define 'Chaos' simply as unrelated information, as the Discordites do, then I would agree with its existence. Since that deals with our awareness and linkages of 'things' that definition falls into the realm of psychology though, not physics.
