For those wishing to see a history of Nagualism, the philosophy popularized by Carlos Castaneda, here is an anthropological survey of Mexican Nagualism from the 19th century. Note: there are many prejudices expressed in these pages due to the time of publication.
Here is a quote:
"The devilish seed of this Nagualism has rooted itself in the very flesh and blood of these Indians. It persevered in their hearts through the instructions of the masters of the sect, and there is scarcely a town in these provinces in which it has not been introduced. It is a superstitious idolatry, full of monstrous incests, sodomies and detestable bestialities."
Many often assume Castaneda's writings are based in imagination, but apparently there is an historical precedent for this form of sorcery. I attached the whole book which is no longer copywrited.

By all means...it is uncopywrited. Make sure you read it well. You will find many familiar concepts misrepresented by an ancient Christian outlook.
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

That is what he says. I don't really know, but he is a great writer.
Those who would like a modern interpretation of nagualism should check out these links: http://lib.ru/KASTANEDA/kast03_engl.txt http://lib.ru/KASTANEDA/kast05_engl.txt http://lib.ru/KASTANEDA/kast09_engl.txt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagualism
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
sources show that Nagual and Nagualism were associated with "men of knowledge" long before the new age movement and Carlos Castaneda. During the conquest and inquisition, many priests and explorers recorded the use of the word Nahuatl being used to represent both a language, a culture and people, as well as the act of knowing itself, and those specialized in dealing with this direct knowing were called nagualists

Hue, you shouldn't be talking about the Nagual. Something bad will happen to you.
Maybe God will punish you.
