Yeah, that's a favorite of mine too, but I've read translations of it that resonate more with me. That was the Someone and Sam Hammill, right? I seem to recall the Inner Chapters Chuang-tse translated by Jane English and somebody has that bit phrased in a more accessible, less silly way. But yeah, that's a gem. The Big Goose Dummy or Knowing Wandered North bits are top-notch, too. But that whole book is fantastic.

Props to Niamnyx for that Lullaby quote, great book and that's possibly the best part of it. I would pick a specific quote from A Complicated Kindness by Miriam Toews, but I would just end up quoting the whole book, if I could find the bit where Nomi keeps saying 'First came the World' instead of 'First came the Word' I'd quote that. Also, props to whoever put that (watch me mispell the name of a truely great fella, I mean him no disrespect, he's fantastic, I'm just exposing my ignorance, not knowing his name) Thick Nyat Ngueh quote up.

As for my quote, howzabout

"Never get so attached to a poem you forget truth that lacks lyricism and never draw so close to the heat that you forget that you must eat, oh oh-oh"
-- Joanna Newsom, it's a song lyric as the oh oh-ohs might suggest.

Don't worry, I'm wrong.
