Hand Spraying and Pins

My casing has many pins appearing. i had to turn to a hand spraying method due to the unfortunate breaking of my ultrasonicc humidifier. i have read that you are not supposed to spray pins or mushrooms, so what do i do when my casing looks dry? what do i do?

how long do you leave a cover over the casing, this is about my only worry, i was told once the pins start forming, but im still not sure. also if you take it off, do you leave it off permanantly or do you take it on and off for a certain number of hours, i will also be spraying so please help us

spray a few times between flushes; but not heavily. once every few hours llightly until primordia form again or you have decent moisture.

I had to leave my terrarium for a few weeks so I brought two healthy cakes with me in a mini cooler. When I opened it after my trip was over there were pins everywhere (this was 4 days ago). I spray like twice a day to keep the humidity up and my pins seem to be doubling in size almost everyday. The biggest is 2-3 inches, so i assume that they are growing fine. I guess what i am trying to say is that i've had no problems having to spray when there are pins and mushrooms. I don't know if i am spraying as much as i am misting though; like a couple feet above the cakes and letting it fall. If someone thinks that I sould stop this please PM me. Also if you haven't done so, you should splurge on the 3 bucks and buy a bag of perlite so you can keep the humidy up while your ultrasonic humidifier is outta comission. I'd also suggest that you go w/ the perlite and air pump anyways to replace your humidifier as your setup gives little air exchange (unless u have an air pump too).
