Apparently not   My lawn had loads of Pan Subbs growing from the same spot during the summer.  I moved into a new housing development, and they bring the grass for the lawns in on trucks.  They get it from turf farms, which have been fertilized to ensure healthy lawns for all the suburbians who have nothing else to worry about :P  Not sure how the cyan spores made it to my lawn but.. who cares at this point eh?

When I had pan subbs growing during the summer, I made a spore print and placed the piece of paper with the print about 2 inches underneath some bark.  A week or so later, Walaa!  I had subbs growin from that spot.  Could I do something similar with cyans?

Does anyone have any info on transplanting cyans?.  I just bought 5 bags of alder chips.  They're the small bags used for smoking stuff, like smoked salmon.  I was thinking of just getting a rubbermaid, filling it with moist woodchips/dirt/grass from my lawn, then making a syringe and injecting it into the woodchips?  Whaddya think? Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Though its most likely possible to cultivate them indoors under perfect conditions, this is probably true. I was planning on just leaving them outside in the rubbermaids, with no lids.  Since they only grow in my lawn (I think), then I couldn't just transplant some spores into my friend's lawn, as it probably doesn't have the same type of substrate.  So I was just trying to think of a way to cultivate them outdoors, but not directly in the ground, hence the rubbermaid with some healthy substrate idea. Or perhaps I would be better off spreading the woodchips around on the ground without the rubbermaid? Where's the master cultivator, Roadkill, when you need him?

Inoculation with a spore solution directly to wood chips doesn't work well at all. Your far better off making a culture (I use homemade PDYA antibiotic agar) and them transfer to sterilized grain then spawn to the wood chips. You could just transfer the culture straight to wood chips though if you want, I prefer the former though, more inoculation points.
