 Colorado Springs shroom hunt... Lots of pics.

I went to this party in Colorado Springs called Crown Chakra. It was cool because only dj's, friends of the dj's, and friends of the guy who set up the party could get directions. This party lasted 5 days, but I only went from late last friday to mid sunday. So the last part of the directions said we had to drive 3.5 miles through the most fucked up dirt road. We did it in a mustang, and when we finally got to the party we were like "yeah we made it," then we hear "KATCHUNK." I took a picture.
We jacked up the car and dug the rock out, and I took a picture..cause it was epic.
So then we wandered around the party for a while, not too many people, like less than 100 i'd say, mostly hippies. Then we set up our tent and went to bed.
When we woke up, Matt and I went on a mushroom hunt. I reached my upload limit so I couldt show all of the ones we found. We found a lot of Bolletas(sp?) and we ate a few... Here's some pics of a few of the shrooms we found that morning.
Like I said those werent all of the ones we found, and we didnt pick them all.
So then we hung out for a while, bought some molly/bud from some hippies, no pics of those though I didnt think about it.. Me and Matt decided to take some AMT for the first time. So we took 60mg each and an hour later we went hiking. Paul(Matts bro) decided to stay and sleep. That was by far the best hike I've ever taken. We were getting a body high that lasted the whole 3-4 hour hike. The scenery was awesome. I took a bunch of pics from the hike...
This was the only cactus we found, I have this same cactus which you can see in my post in the ethno garden forum. Such a beautifull pic, I even got it being pollinated.
We found One Amanita, but we didnt pic it cause it was just a youngin, and because we only found one.

then we came back to camp to tell paul he was missen out.. we then went on another little hike after rehydrating.. and found some more shrooms..

Well that wasnt all the shrooms we found, or pics we took for that matter, but upload limit...
So as it got darker we checked out the sweat lodge that a few people set up, kind of hard to see but it was cool.

We then met the coolest guy, and he was giving out free mushroom tea to the whole party... So me and Matt took a shot each, which was about equal to an eighth... about a half hour later we went to the car.. and took a pic of our eyes, matt's eyes arent shown.
Then I decided I'd give the guy some DMT for being so cool, and he gave us some more tea :2smile: Then we got to talken and figured we dont live far from eachother, and so we're gonna keep in touch. We had a very interesting conversation, but I wont go into that. About when the sun started coming up we went to bed, and left mid sunday.
Anyone wanna take a crack at what we found?

Here's a future tip for photography if you might want them identified - we need to see the underside of the cap more than the top. Since all we see is the tops of the caps in most of those photos, most of them we're not going to be able to get to genus on. If you really want one identified, you need to make a collection.
The first ones look like Hygrophorus, and the second set do, too.
Then a mysterious brown-capped mushroom.
The next pair look like Russula brevipes, an extremely common mushroom in Colorado.
Then the cactus (lots of those here, and they're pretty), and the Amanita muscaria. That Amanita means that Boletus season should be beginning now - it's early this year.
The rest, I'm afraid, will remain mysteries.

I do have a few more gill picks, but not for all of them. I reached my upload limit trice before posting those. At the time I wasnt too interested in IDing.. We ended up finding hundreds of Boletus though.

I'm going to guess that the boletes you found were probably Suillus species. They've been up for a few weeks now. The season for Boletus edulis and Boletus barrowsii should be beginning (in most years) in 2 or 3 weeks.
If you're already finding Boletus edulis, then the season has started pretty early this year.

Yes I know what boletes look like, kinda hard to mis-ID considering the spongy gills. My friend Matt is always hunting for edibles in montana so he knows what to look for.

I uploaded some earlier this week, one was really big i think. I reached my upload limit that time and I waited to put more up today. I tried to make the files smaller so I could fit more. I think the limit was 400 kb.
