shroom hunting in NW North Carolina
    #1242050 - 01/23/03 05:45 AM (21 years, 9 months ago)

OK, so I have some friends, these friends are not to bright and think they can eat shrooms that grow in their yard and trip off them. Ignorant friends. Well anyway I am thinking about taking them on a trip with me to show them the dos and donts of shroom hunting with what I have learned here and from my own experience. It just snowed probly the last snow of our season and i was thinking that the snow might induce some outdoor pinning over the next week and possibly result in some fruiting. I never have went hunting this early in the year and the temps are around 50 to 65 degrees so im not to sure. I was planning on going hunting maybe three weeks from now. If there is anyone from NC or anyone else who can give me some advise it would be appreciated, I will post pics before anyone "thinks" about "anything", later

I'd hit your local pasture about the first 3 or 4 sunny days in march.
If you don't have a field theres one near the airport n asheville that has been fruiting everytime i've went after a good spring shower.
Just don't get busted and fuk it up for everyone
U can't miss it it's huge. it might take 2 hours of hunting but u will find them.
I've had a food lion bag full from there and there was prob 10x that still on the ground growing.

Not many hunters around here there all dumb and think those things grow in florida only LOL

im up towards Hickory, and yeah theres still a  little snow on the ground.  Yeah people around here are ignorant when it comes to anything, they dont bother to learn, at least the vast majority of people i know.  I know people that swear you have to go before daylight because sunlight supposedly makes them  poisoness, but i really dont expect to hear anything intelegent around here anyways so i just play along  Ill have to take a road trip with a few (maybe 2) of my friends down that way, im going to have to help them out a little bit before they involuntarily kill themselves.

The playing fields shared by both St Peter & Pauls and Wade Deacon High Schools hold an absolute abundance of our friendly little fella Mr Liberty Cap.The fields are located at the back of both schools and if you can find tiny smelly Widnes then I'm sure you can find this lucrative site.
