Well these big laughing gyms were picked back in mid-late septemeber. I've been eating 8-12 grams dry for a good trip.







I find these mushrooms are decently potent ( compared to what I've heard previously). It seems when the mushrooms are around 75-125 grams seems it's their most potent stage. Any bigger than that and they are much much weaker. However they are bitter as hell ( like crushing up aspirin and chewing them ) but I think they smell wonderful.



Now this pan subb hunt was yesterday. It was conducted at two seperate dung piles that are decent in size. Total haul was 425.5 grams wet quite a haul. However my camera only made it through the first dung pile, and it happened to be the lesser of the haul ( only 80 grams found here the rest were at my other spot).











Me and 4 other other friends ate 60 grams wet last night ( I had too many to dry under my lamp so we had to eat some ) I had a fantastic trip. My friend squeezed a lime into his "smoothie" and tripped a lot harder than everyone else. He couldn't even talk til about 2 am ( we ate them at 8 pm ).

BTW anyone know a good way to dry gyms? I tried a heat lamp with a black t-shirt and they ended up being all black and rubbery. They seem to be so meaty it doesn't dry right. I think if I slice them into sections it may dry better. Or should I just lay them out in front of a box fan?

pretty impressive finds for living in Ohio.

do you find the subbs and gymno's every year?

oh and the best way to dry them is with a fan,
don't use a heat lamp, im pretty sure that will degrade their potency..

Right on. I'll just lay them on some newspaper and put the fan on em.

As for yearly finds. I just started hunting last year and I found a decent amount ( maybe a quarter dry every couple weeks ) but this year I've got numerous spots and have learned to ID gyms so I've got it down. Where I found that lb of subbs there was hundreds of small mushrooms and pins still left over. So I speculate in a week from yesterday I'll have another lb+. I'll post pics if I'm correct.

Make a mesh screen frame and raise the shrooms from the floor as you play the heater on them (they dry all round and don't stick).

Beautiful subbs you've got there, everytime I eat them I always have a wonderful trip. Too badd you didnt get pics of your whole haul, woulda loved to see 'em.

A simple technique I have used to dry everything from mushrooms to garden veggies involves attaching a bit of screen over the top of a large lampshade using cloths pins. Lay the mushrooms atop the screen and turn on the light. All but the largest most robust specimens will dry within 24hours.

juast so you guys know heat does degrade them so just use a fan and maybe some drying descicant(dry rite or damp rid)...
