Schools and Myspace
    #4792977 -

So the high school I used to go to pulled up a bunch of people's myspace doohickey's, and suspended them for the yes/no questions of smoking and drinking, calling their friends sluts, admitting they do drugs, etc. etc.

Is this legal?

Constitution, first article.

Don't fax it, hire a lawyer.

Yes, it's illegal. There was a case a decade or so back where a school suspended students for writing that they hated certain teachers on a website they made outside of school. It was ruled unconstitutional. I can't remember the name of the case, but you could probably google it or find it at the ACLU.

Are you serious? This "zero tolerance" policy schools have adopted is really getting ridiculous... :shake:

I'm sure they will, my friends are already telling me that several of the rich kids in the school have been suspended. I can't wait to see where this is gonna go.

Contact the ACLU. Maybe they've finished defending NAMBLA.

I think so. Isn't that why Jackson was found innocent?

The kid in the first case I listed got suspended for 10 days for making a site about how his band teacher sucked. He took the board of education to court and won. The school expunged his record and apologized...and paid him $30,000.

Print several copies of these cases and hand them out to the students, and parents of, that were suspended.
If you really want to cause a stink, hand them out to as many students as possible(off school grounds).

And for the love of all that is decent, make sure somebody sues those cocksuckers!

shit when I was in school, I got suspended for telling a kid his head looked like a melon on a SATURDAY. he went to school that monday morning and told the principal and the deputy, and bam... suspended for 10 days.

what do you expect when education is run by the same people who run the prison system? they start seperating the criminals from the robots as early as possible.
