School DRUG policies

Quick question about Drug policies at school.

My friend goes to West Fargo Community here in ND... anyways a teacher reported 3 people as "being under the influence of Marijuana" the principal questioned all 3 of them. As my opinion these 3 people are the "Popular" ones, and they were under the influence.

Those 3 students were sent back to class and now this is where my friends come into the story: Nina, Nikki, Ashley, and Chelsey weren't hanging out with those 3 people, they went out for lunch since it's an open campus after lunch they were also taken out of class. The principal asked to smell there breath, and she didn't smell any marijuana... when that didn't work out she asked to smell Nikkis hands and she concluded that they did smell like marijuana.

Nina, nikkis, ashley, and Chelseys parents were called to pick-up the kids and bring them to the local sharehouse for a drug-test. Nikki's parents were the only ones who said "NO". The other 3 tested positive for marijuana and since the 3 tested positive Nikki and the others were suspended for 3 days... during the 3 days they have to do some classes that cost $35 a day and community service.

The girls all admitted to smoking Marijuana within the past 30 Days and they were not under the influence at the time they were accused of.

Now my question is can Schools give drug tests to students and suspend them if they tested positive, and if a parent doesn't want a drug test done to there kid can that student be suspended? Also what can we do about the other 3 kids who were under the influence and got off the hook?

well first off you cant rat on anybody and i dont even know why you asked that question about what to do about the "popular" ones. secondly your three girlfriends are stupid for admitting anything and taking the drug tests to begin with. the principal smelled it on their hands? if my principal would have told me that then called my parents i dont know who would have laughed harder, me or them. its called a "dumbass penalty" and your friends definately deserved this one

Either way they would of been suspended.... If they didn't take the drug test they would of been suspended for not taking the drug tests like Nikki was.

Also I found out that they denied of any drug use until the Tests turned out positive.

and to say my friends definetly deserved that one? They were not doing anything wrong... and when I said "Also what can we do about the other 3 kids who were under the influence and got off the hook?".... My idea was to ask the Superintendant of the schools if 3 others were identified as being under the influence why weren't they forced to take a drug test?
