Where did I say that? No offense, but prove that it doesn't. I have no comment on the matter besides posting a list of compounds which may or may not interact with the actives in the mushrooms. Maybe one of those compounds is more easily taken up by the body. Maybe it jump starts the conversion to psilocin. I don't know. Honestly I doubt you do either. The universe is crazier than either of us can possibly imagine and bias is not science. Just because neither of us understand something doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. We could be having this same debate about the psycoactivity of Salvia divinorum 20 years ago. I pulled that list off of a USDA linked website. I'm not saying that it does. All I'm saying is that its interesting and when I have my Pan cyan patch going later this year I will try it for sure.

even if it does jump start the conversion of psilocybin to psilocin that doesnt mean its creating more of anything.

unless you somehow think it's more efficient than our liver doing it.

but you are right, we're both just speculating

I'm glad that we can agree on that. Like I said it could very well be freeze dried bullshit. The more concentrated something is the harder it hits. If our liver has to do less work it could influence it. All shots in the dark. I am just a naturally curious mo fo so out of personal pride I've got to take a shot at it. I mean $1 for a lemon and a lime ain't going to break the bank.

please forgive me if i have overlooked this info, but is there a consensus on the ratio of shrooms to lemon juice to time letting it sit?

i seem to have seen more people cite 1 oz of lemon juice than any other amount, but the amount of mushrooms varies quite a bit as does the amount of time people let it sit before drinking it.

is it safe to assume that the longer you let it sit the better it will work or is there a point where it becomes negligible?

do you need more juice if you have more shrooms?

I'm sure somewhere in the 65+ pages this information is contained but I searched and couldn't find anything.  My method for lemon tek involves soaking 3.5 grams ground up in a coffee grinder in a standard shot glass filled with lemon juice and mixed around.  Put it in the fridge for 20 minutes. Then (here's the different part) I pour the lemonshrooms into a glass and fill it with OJ, pouring OJ into the shot glass to get everything out.  This way I still lemon tek but I don't need to deal with the worst imaginable.  Hope this makes Lemon Tek more bearable for someone because it's the only way I take shrooms now.

I dont readed all the posts...so i dont know if anyone said this before...

As i do chemistry, i think that citric acid makes some bond with psilocin, as the 4th position of the indole is very reactive... thats why its not that hard to make AcODMT.

There's people that says citric breaks down the psilocybin into psilocin...i dont believe it does. Unfortunately i dont have access to chromatography or IR tech to try to prove...

I believe grapes will be different also, as it has tartaric acid, besides citric.

But, i can't test this at home:frown: At least for some time...:rolleyes:

When you take the mushrooms by eating them, they go into your stomach. A vanishingly small amount of the material is absorbed in your esophagus and only a little in your mouth. As it enters your stomach, it is submerged in ~1 pH gastric acid. Lemon juice has a pH of ~2.3, over 10 times weaker than the gastric acid. I bet if you did a randomized sample you would find that the determining factors in 'potency' are:

1. amount of psilocybin & psilocin in the sample (principal factor)
2. how finely the mushrooms are ground (affecting speed of absorption and thus distribution of intensity of the effects)
3. how much liquid is consumed with the sample (affecting speed of absorption and thus distribution of intensity of the effects)



I hate to bring back such an old thread, but I feel I must comment on this...Although the above statement about our stomach acid is true, Our stomach ALSO contains mucous, that coats our stomach and our esophagus. If we didn't have that mucous coating, then Our stomach acid would eat our stomach, and esophagus alive, since its such a strong acid...

Therefore, I believe that the acid in our stomachs wouldn't have the same effect the lemon juice would, For 1, because it wouldn't be pre mixed with the shroom powder and allowed to mix and make what ever chemical reaction is going to take place until about 45 mins to an hour after it's ingested,If even then, and 2, since we have that mucous, it acts as a base, therefore keeping the acid from mixing with the shroom powder properly.

Besides, that's what happens every time we eat shrooms, so why would it ever change? The juice OBVIOUSLY does something that our stomach acid doesn't. I'm sure it mixes, but with the juice, it is pre-mixed, and the powder is completely saturated by the juice with no interference or other variables. Also, Even tho our stomach acid helps us break down food, But it's not what really does the job...It's the enzymes and bacteria in our stomach that breaks everything down mostly.

So I personally believe stomach acid wouldn't have any effect what so ever on the potency of Psilocybin/Psilocin, like lemon juice would..NOW MAYBE, If you wanted to be a sick fuck, and puke, mix the powder and re drink it... :2girls1cup:  :scat:  :puke: , Then It might be similar. HOWEVER, there will still be mucous mixed with the Puke that will act as a base, and make it less acidic...So just stick to the lemon juice, OR just eat more shrooms..PEACE

No I'm back :smile: Trip report has been posted for a couple of days. My dose was 2g of panaeolus cyanescens. What the mother fuck? I guess for my first trip in 20 years I should not have done lemon tek. Is level 5 always that scary and intense?

cubensis are a very weak species.
