Actually the largest mushroom in that picture is about the size of a golf ball. However some grow to 7-10 inches in diameter at times.

These were all babies whioch opend up wwhile drying to about 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

Saw hundreds of those prime amanitas in warrenton this year at fort stevens state park, and more on the other side of astoria. didnt take any because I dont want to waste them because I wont eat them anymore

Are the small specimens more potent than the old one?? I always picked the larger ones.

I read somewhere on the net, that the most potent Amanitas (without counting season and place found) are the larger ones, with the most potent one , to be the one found "dry on the stall" Is this true???? Can someone enlight us on this dark matter???? I thought it was a waste to pick small Amanitas untill now........... Was i missing the best part or something????? H E L P ! ! ! :)
