its obviously not true. smoking weed every day for a long time didnt kill me but it made me much weaker both physically and mentally. its so easy to think of counter examples to this.

i exercised my brain a ton when i was smoking weed every day, i read philosophy, spirituality, meditated, went to school, did all the things a normal person would do and more. yet too much marijuana made me much weaker, it lead to paranoia, anxiety and panick attacks as well as doing quite a bit of damage to my lungs making me physically weaker. you don't know me and you don't know what my experience with marijuana was so how can you make a stupid statement like that?

the pot didn't cause that...you had an inclination for all those things to begin with probably. also....smoke maybe damaged your lungs...but not pot.....you could have worked out and not lost any physical strength.

this is just stupid, it's well known that over use of marijuana can cause anxiety in otherwise healthy inviduals. its one of the side effects, are you trying to tell me marijuana doesn't have any side effects? secondly marijuana smoke damaged my lungs and i could not have worked out because smoking weed all day made me too tired to work out. i'm not trying to blaim my problems on marijuana or say marijuana is bad, i'm trying to say that its not true that whatever doesnt kill you makes you stronger. sitting around all day smoking pot does not make you stronger. what does "you could have worked out" have to do with this?

So are you telling me that you can't overcome your lazyness when high and work out? Arnold smoked joints and worked out. I did too. Marijuana doesn't cause anxiety....it may be more likely for someone to get anxiety when using marijuana but marijuana is not the cause.

I think it's relative. Lifting weights doesn't kill and makes you physically stronger. Loving yourself doesn't kill and makes you emotionally stronger. Reading and comprehension doesn't kill and makes you more mentally fit.

It really depends upon what it is that is not killing you that you are exposing yourself to or doing.

There are many things that make people weaker, that doesn't kill them, like not exercising the muscles, not loving the self and not keeping the mind fit with challenging thoughts.

Then you can apply the cosmic joke and flip all of those examples around.

One can say that he who exercise has become a slave to maintaining his body and is made weak as he is enslaved by something. One can say the one who loves himself in a care free manor may become careless and is weakened by that. One can say that one who does exercise the mind may develop hardened and less fluid thoughts and that hardened thoughts break easier, making them weaker then those that can bend and flex and not break.

One can say not being a slave to the maintenance of the body frees you to develop social and financial resources that can make you socially and financially stronger. One who hates himself, may put others first by giving them more worth and esteem thereby making his positioning with them stronger. One can say that one who does not exercise the mind is not bound by it there by giving him the strength of freedom and mobility.

So yes, to say that would be a partial lie to help cope with a misfortune yet, if you apply the cosmic joke, there is always fortune within misfortune. Why don't they just look for that instead. Opportunity to benefit from is found in every misfortune. Remember the cosmic joke and you will laugh your way through life with the strength of ease.

sure you can but probably not if you smoked as much as i did, there were times id be so lazy id go to sleep without even turning the light off because id be too exhausted from smoking all day and trying to go to class and get my homework done. i had no time for working out, i was too busy getting high.

couldnt you say that about any subjective effect? lsd doesn't cause hallucinations but its more likely for someone to get hallucinations if they are using lsd? come on, paranoia is a documented side of effect of cannabis. if i hadn't smoked so much cannabis i obviously would not have had panick attacks, i never had panick attacks before i started and they stopped as i soon as i started smoking less. therefore its safe to list marijuana as the main cause, especially when it has been known to have this effect on people. but regardless of all this isn't it still true that sitting around all day smoking pot doesn't make you stronger?

I try to incorporate a few intense skate sessions into my daily routine in attempt to make up for the brutality experienced by my lungs.

It depends upon what you apply the statement too, and your perspective....

For me, it doesn't seem to work for people with an un-ending Coma....

Tho~ with someone else's perspective and application, they might come to a different conclusion....    :shrug:

i get hit by the car, i'm walking around on crutches for months. sure, i have to face and overcome the obstacle of crutches. the point of this thread is that that's hardly worthwhile compensation.

compared to the dude who didn't get hit in the first place, i have all this pain & crapola i have to deal with. when i say 'i'm thankful i got hit by that car because it gave me the courage to overcome' i'm soothing my wounded ego- cause the honest truth is i'm not as lucky as the dude the car missed. people would be jumping in front of cars left and right, if they really thought it was so enviable.

if you apply that to the idea of exercise it holds true until a certain threshold at which point you see diminishing returns.

so yea, it's true. but only to an extent.
