I have a friend who I think might have schizophrenia. Normally, he's ok. But occasionally he has outbursts where he just loses touch with reality. It all came to fruition when he wrote a 15-page letter to another friend that looked like the ramblings of a madman.

The dopamine hypothesis is a popular answer to "why it happens".

This guy who lives next door to me is schizophrenic, sometimes he'll yell and smash his fence up and scream that people are trying to kill him when in reality no one is and the only people who can hear him are me (inside, laughing) and the construction crew.

It's a sad thing to see.

I was just kidding actually. That's a pretty widespread conspiracy theory (if you wish to call it that) some people believe. I don't really believe the white man is keeping the black man down on purpose. :wink:

Though I do think schizophrenia may have some sort of purpose, if indeed it is an ancient mental illness; though what that is I'm not sure. Perhaps the same purpose as faith in God serves? As isn't faith just a type of schizophrenia if you think about it? Faith does fit at least 2 of the characteristic symptoms of schizophrenia in many religious people.

Well, search on google.. but when you<re reading the description of what is a schizoid man, be sure to know that the syndroms must be extreme and they all have to be there in a person to be classified as a schizoid. Schizoid persons need permenent medical support. My father is a psychiatrist hehe  :wink: So when people tell to me ''i know a guy, he's probably schizoid'' or ''i'm sure i'm a schizophrenic mofo!'' i'm like... umm i dont think so! These peoples are realllllyyy fucking out of their mind hehe. You have to make a difference between (this is an exemple) a fitness freak who exercise every day, and dieting to have a clear 6-pack and an anorexic, on paper they exuberate the same symptoms, but.. one is self conscioous while the other is crazy.  :smirk:

Sometimes, I say things that I shouldn't, but it sounds like a really

good idea at the time.  The next day, I regret it terribly and wish I

hadn't said it.  I fuck a lot of things up that way.  I don't think

it's schizophrenia, but sometimes I feel like I have two different

personalities.
